Summary
A creative fan has recreated the Divine Beast, Vah Naboris, inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomusing a combination of Zonai devices and cooking utensils. Fans were disappointed to learn that the four Divine Beasts were not inTears of the Kingdom, with even NPCs not commenting to clue players in on the disappearance of the gigantic behemoths that had towered in the land of Hyrule for a century.
The Sheikah first created the Divine Beasts to help the Hero take on Calamity Ganon approximately 10,000 years before the events ofBreath of the Wild, but they were largely forgotten by the people of Hyrule until they were unearthed again. Their pilots played a pivotal role in helping Link to defeat Calamity Ganon by providing a powerful combined attack that took away half of the beast’s health. This is why fans found it strange that the only references to the legendary group inTears of the Kingdomwere the Divine Beasts Helmsthat players could obtain by either scanning the amiibos of the four Champions or undertaking four quests to find them.

One player took it upon themselves to return one of the Divine Beasts, Vah Naboris, to the world of Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom. Going by the handle Justtakingastroll, the player posted a short video on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit showcasing the Divine Beast walking in the Gerudo Desert. Vah Naboris is now made up of some of thebest Zonai devices in Tears of the Kingdom, like stabilizers, big wheels, stakes, and even cooking pots. Notably, Justtakingastroll’s creation has an almost fluid, bouncy motion, replicating how Vah Naboris moved inBreath of the Wild.
According to Justtakingastroll, the build was possible because of a technique called “Stake Nudging,” which essentially allows players to create “invisible connections between two objects” using Zonai stakes as the main building blocks. Many users were impressed at the creation, with one user complimenting the use of the cooking pots to recreate Vah Naboris’ humps. Another was inspired to start making their own plans, hoping to replicate another Divine Beast,Vah Ruta, inTears of the Kingdom.
WhileTears of the Kingdomwas praised for improving virtually every aspect of Breath of the Wild, such as combat, movement, and even introducing new abilities for players to experiment with, it is confusing as to why Nintendo hardly included any information about the legendary beasts. One theory is that theDivine Beasts were scrapped for partsafter the final battle, while another is that Nintendo wanted to keep the sequel as welcoming as possible for newcomers. Whatever the case,The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomhas become one of Nintendo’s highest-rated titles and is now a strong Game of the Year contender.
