The upcomingWWE 2K24, meanwhile, is celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania with its Showcase mode, the aptly-named Showcase of the Immortals.
Previous trailers had hinted at the matches that would be featured inWWE 2K24’s Showcase of the Immortals, but only 10 were confirmed at the time. It was clarified by the developers thatWWE 2K24’s Showcase mode will have 21 matches, so fans have been waiting to see what else would make the cut. WWE 2K24 Confirmed Showcase Matches
According to The SmackDown Hotel, three Showcase matches have yet to be confirmed, but speculation points to Hulk Hogan and Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff with Muhammad Ali as the Special Guest Referee from WrestleMania 1, Kane vs. Triple H from WrestleMania 15, and Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels from WrestleMania 21. It’s possible that the remaining threeWWE 2K24Showcase matches will be completely different from those, though, so fans will just have to wait for the official announcement to be sure.
There are a couple of particularly interesting matches included inWWE 2K24’s Showcase mode. First off, the WrestleMania 17 match between Steve Austin and The Rock could prove problematic. That match ends thanks to interference fromVince McMahon, the disgraced former WWE boss who is currently dealing with accusations of sex trafficking and abuse. It’s hard to see how the developers are going to properly feature the match without including McMahon, so one has to wonder how that will be handled in-game.
The other match that stands out is the Firefly Funhouse Match between “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and John Cena.WWE 2K24confirmed Bray Wyatt for its rosterbefore dropping this new Showcase trailer, so fans will no doubt be excited to see him featured in the upcoming game. And considering how absurd it was, the Firefly Funhouse Match could very well be the most unique bout in the entire lineup, complete with fourth wall-breaking moments and clever references to the pasts of both Bray Wyatt and John Cena.
