As well as all of the current WWE Superstars, the game features a fantastic selection of the franchise’s former fan favorites, including the likes of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, to name but a few.

Most of the classic Superstars inWWE 2K23are purchasable through the game’s store, with the rest coming courtesy of this year’s excellent Showcase Mode. For everyone else though, players will need to delve deep into the game’s Community Creations section, where they’ll be able to find some of the best custom Superstars based on former WWE wrestlers just waiting to be downloaded.
Billy Gunn
Despite never winning any of the very top prizes in wrestling, Billy Gunn remains one of the sport’s all-time greats. He’s a ten-time WWF Tag Team Champion, with Edge (12) the only Superstar with more tag team titles to their name. He’s also aWWE Hall of Famer, having been inducted as a member of D-Generation X in 2019.

The Great Khali
In 2007, The Great Khali became the first Indian-born Superstar to lift the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, helping him to become a legend in both the wrestling community and his home country. Surprisingly, that was the only Championship that this monstrosity of a man ever held, though he wasinducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.

Mandy Rose
Mandy Rose was the leader of Toxic Attraction, and, for an incredible 413 days, the NXT Women’s Champion. She enjoyed seven successful years with the WWE, but wasreleased from her contract in late 2022due to her actions on her FanTime page. When most people think of the Attitude era, it’s usually the likes of Stone Cold and The Rock that spring to mind. Ric Flair
Ric Flair is one ofthe greatest wrestlers of all time, winning countless Championships during his decades-long career. He’s also one of only a handful of individuals to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice: once individually in 2008 and then again as one of The Four Horsemen in 2012. Road Dogg was never really a main-event kind of guy, but that’s not to say that he wasn’t still an incredibly talented wrestler. Together with Billy Gunn, he was a six-time WWE tag team champion and also held the WWF Hardcore and Intercontinental Championships at one point during his career. As far as female Superstars go, few are more popular than Scarlett, nor are there many with quite as much skill and ability in the ring. Sadly, much like in last year’s game,Scarlett can only be used as a manager inWWE 2K23, though fans can once again add her to the roster with the help of the Community Creations section. There are plenty of great Scarlett CaWs to choose from, but WhatsTheStatus' is arguably the pick of the bunch.

Scotty 2 Hotty
Scott Ronald Garland spent most of his career with the WWE, though not all of that time was spent in the ring. After recovering from testicular cancer in 2007 his appearances become more sporadic, with Garland eventually going on to become an NXT trainer before being released from the company in late 2021. He’s still fondly remembered for his Scotty 2 Hotty persona though, with which he won multiple Championships.

Sgt. Slaughter
Sgt. Slaughter may seem cheesy by today’s standards, but back in the day, he was a real badass. He’s had various spells with the WWE over the years, with his most successful coming in the early nineties when he became the thirteenth WWF Champion by beating The Ultimate Warrior atthe 1991 Royal Rumble. His most recent appearance came way back in early 2020, so those wishing to play as Sgt. Slaughter inWWE 2K23will have to rely on CaWs, the best of which comes courtesy of a creator named GamOuZz.
