One of the biggest parts ofWorld of Warcraftis the professions. Even though players may not think about it, a large portion of the best items, including armor, weapons, potions, food, etc., all come from some sort of profession. They play a massive role in the game and its economy, meaning they are vital to learn and use.
WithWorld of Warcraft Classic, players are able to participate in the Season of Discovery, which adds some new content to the VanillaWoWthat players love so much. The release of Phase 4 of this saw some changes to some of the game’s professions (some professions are better than others), and here is a breakdown of those changes.

Changes To All Professions In WoW SoD P4
In Phase 4, all specializations of professions will be able to learn some recipes from other specializations. For instance, in Blacksmithing, Armorsmiths can learn some of the recipes that were only available to Weaponsmiths and vice versa. While some professions could do this before (such as Engineers), all professions will allow this soon after the release of Phase 4. Additionally, it has been confirmed by Blizzard that Blacksmithing and Leatherworking specializations can be swapped later on in Phase 4. Here is a breakdown of all the professions with specializations and the specializations:
Additionally, while Phase 3 added a ton of new recipes due to specializations being added, so many recipes required players to be level 60, meaning they weren’t available. However, Phase 4 increases the level cap to 60 (and players can reach that level pretty quickly), meaning that all recipes are now up for grabs. Finally, all professions have seen some changes, such as items being renamed or having their stats changed. Thankfully, most professions haven’t changed too much (except the Blacksmithing profession). Overall, most of these changes are minor and don’t do too much to the professions as a whole.

Major Changes To Blacksmithing & Leatherworking In WoW SoD P4
As mentioned above, one major change to these two professions is that players will be able to swap their specialization at some point within Phase 4. Additionally, these two professions see the biggest changes in item names. Thankfully, most of the items are recognizable and only change a word or add a word to the name. For example, Phase 3 had the Black Amnesty weapon available for Weaponsmiths, and now the weapon is named Tempered Black Amnesty.
Additionally, the items that have seen a name change mostly see an increase in stats, making them better than the original versions. There are small changes like this throughout these two professions that truly make it seem more overwhelming than it actually is. (For players having trouble with the changes, some addons may be beneficial for this phase of SoD.)
