The end is nigh for players inWorld of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. After exploring the continents of Zandalar and Kul’tiras, ending the Blood War between the Horde and Alliance, and dealing with Queen Azshara, heroes are set to take on the expansion’s final boss, the Old God N’Zoth in Patch 8.3.
On January 14th, 2020, the Visions of N’Zoth content update will go live. After being freed during the events of the last raid, N’Zoth once again sits on his throne in the Black Empire. From the Waking City, his minions stream out into the world of Azeroth, attempting to corrupt the world and remake it according to the Old God’s design. Adventurers will need to push back against the ever-encroaching tide at several familiar locations in Azeroth before confronting N’Zoth at his seat of power.

Patch 8.3 will introduce Titan Assaults which mirror the Legion invasions and faction incursions from previous content.Continuing storylines from old expansions, N’Zoth’s forces will attempt to take over titan facilities at Uldum and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in Kalimdor and Pandaria respectively. While under attack, the area will change depending on the enemy attacking such as the N’raqi, Mantid, or other antagonistic groups like Mogu. Completing daily quests and killing enemies will fill a progress bar, eventually allowing players to face the enemy’s leader and drive them back for the time being.
However, to save Azeroth, players will need to dive into the heart of the Black Empire. Within the same zones being contested by Old God forces are large floating obelisks that can transport heroes into Ny’alotha, the Waking City. DuringBattle For Azeroth’slast raid, players will confront an onslaught of devoted underlings, corrupted what-ifs, and old foes reborn before culminating in two final battles with N’Zoth. The gate to Ny’alotha will open on January 21st, 2020, a week after Patch 8.3 drops. From that point on, the mythic version and then different raid finder wings of Ny’alotha will unlock every week starting January 28th and going until March 10th.
With all of this content dropping in less than a month, it seems Blizzard is pulling out all the stops. Teased over the course ofBattle for Azerothand even many expansions ago, N’Zoth’s story, and the Old Gods in general, seems to be coming to an action-packed conclusion.
In the end, the main focus of Patch 8.3 is sure to satisfy most players, but there might be some who aren’t interested in more Old God content. However, Blizzard has also added more allied races in the Mechagnomes and Vulpera as well as other cosmetics and secrets to keep heroes busy until therelease ofShadowlands.
