AWitcherfan recently gave Geralt of Rivia a new yellow and blue ensemble inspired by Wolverine of Marvel Comics fame. In the decade or so since gamers were first introduced to him in 2007’sThe Witcher, Geralt has becomeone of gaming’s most beloved characters- a popularity that has only grown in recent years thanks to Henry Cavill’s portrayal of him in the first three seasons of the NetflixWitcherseries. Just like in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels that theWitchergames are based on, Geralt is a mutant member of the monster-hunting Witchers that is often tasked with slaying terrifying beasts in service of high-paying clients.
Thanks to the success of CD Projekt Red’sWitchertrilogy (and 2015’sThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntin particular), Geralt has been the subject of countless memes and fan art. Some players haveenvisioned Geralt with shorter hairor redesigned him in the futuristic style of CDPR’s other massive RPG releaseCyberpunk 2077. Other fan-made crossovers have blended Geralt with famous comic book characters like the nefarious Joker from DC Comics, but many players who have followed the titular Witcher along his harrowing journey might find another mash-up much more fitting for him.

Reddit user SnapTone has shared an altered image of Geralt fromThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntto r/witcher, one that sees the world-weary monster hunter clad in yellow, brown, and blue armor akin to Wolverine’s classicX-Mencostume. SnapTone says that they were inspired by the recently leaked set photos fromDeadpool 3that revealed Hugh Jackman’s comic-accurate assemble, and other Reddit users have found the comparison very appropriate.
Just like Geralt, Wolverine hasappeared in his fair share of video gamesover the years, with his most recent one being as a playable character in last year’sMarvel’s Midnight Suns. Logan will soon step into the virtual spotlight once more inMarvel’s Wolverine, an upcoming game from Insomniac. Very little else is known aboutMarvel’s Wolverineas of this writing save that the game’s creative director has promised a much darker and more mature tone than Insomniac’s previous Marvel offerings.
Dark and gritty gaming adventures aren’t the only thing that Wolverine has in common withGeralt from theWitcherseries. Both characters are grizzled, brooding figures with tragic backstories and mutant abilities that render them outcasts in their respective universes.
