Fossilized Bonesare intermediate crafting materials that mostEnshroudedplayers won’t need until later in their journey through Embervale. Large quantities of it are required to craft a variety of light armor sets as well as different spells for mages.
Unlike a few other resourcessuch as Indigo Plants, Fossilized Bones are quite plentiful, though they only spawn in very specific parts of the map. If you’re wondering where to get this exotic crafting material inEnshrouded, here’s where you need to go.

Enshrouded Fossilized Bone Location
You can only get Fossilized Bones from giant skeletons inthe desert regions. The first one you’ll likely find is in the Pillars of Creation, just north of the outpost where you find the Strange Letter for The Blacksmith’s Request mission. You can get to the Pillars of Creation region by scaling the mountain north of theLow Meadows Ancient Spirefound east of the Cinder Vault. If you plan on taking the mountain route, get Double Jump and Updraft, two ofEnshrouded’sbest skills.
If you’ve explored the Pillars of Creation, you may have seen the enormous spines and ribcages poking out of the ground. Break these with your pickaxe as you would other types of ore to collect Fossilized Bones.

How to Use Fossilized Bones
You’ll need large amounts of Fossilized Bones if you plan on crafting armor sets for the Ranger and Mage archetypes. Once you get at least one bone, recipes will unlock for the Hunter and Alchemist NPCs. Armor sets that require Fossilized Bones are:
Of course, you’ll need more than just Fossilized Bones to craft these. Other crafting materials include rare resources from the desert biomes like Lapis Lazuli and Yellow Fabric.Build a basesomewhere in this region so you have somewhere to rest and recuperate.

How to Make and Use Fossilized Bone Dust
Fossilized Bones can also be ground into dust using a Grinding Stone, one of the main crafting stations for the Alchemist. Thankfully, you unlock the recipe for this station as soon as you save the Alchemist from his vault. Build one, then interact with it to open up its crafting window. Then, select the Browse Recipes button, and click on Fossilized Bone Dust. Place your Fossilized Bones into the grinder and leave them for a few minutes. When you come back, they will be converted into dust.
To make some of the armor pieces mentioned above (particularly the Rogue Set and Hunter Hood), you’ll need Fossilized Bone Dust instead of the actual bones themselves. Additionally, dust is used toupgrade the Flame Altarand craft Eternal Spell Charges.
