Summary
Debuting in 1962, Peter Parker received the powers of super strength and agility when he was bitten by a radioactive spider, becomingSpider-Manin the process. The hero mainly relies on his wits and superhuman senses to avoid danger and fight crime; however, Peter Parker is also a budding young scientist. With his intelligence,Spider-Man has been able to craft various gadgetsto help in his fight against the villains of New York. However, his lack of finances often means that these gadgets are not as flashy or powerful as those used by other heroes like Batman or Iron Man.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2for the PS5 has Peter Parker using all manner of gadgets, but most of his most famous tech comes from the comics. Some of these are incredibly useful, while others are a bit strange.

6Impact Webs
A Hard Hitting Version Of His Web Fluid
Spider-Man’s web shooters are an iconic part of his arsenal. They are the gadgets that help him traverse around New York City, and they also enable him to deal with enemies from a distance. However, the regular web isn’t that great at dealing damage from far away. That is why Ben Reilly came up with the idea of the impact webbing in his time as The Scarlet Spider.
These impact webs fire multiple strands of webs at the enemy at once, usually in the shape of a sphere, and are capable of knocking over a fully grown man. Peter Parker soon adopted this helpful gadget after The Scarlet Spider retired, and the impact webbing has been seen in some Spider-Man games and movies since.

5Arachnaughts
Otto’s Attempt At Giving Spider-Man Henchmen
During the Superior Spider-Man arc, Doctor Otto Octavius takes over Peter Parker’s body and becomes a new version of the webslinging hero. In his attempt to becomethe superior version of Spider-Man, Otto creates a hive mind of robots called the archnaughts to help him police the streets of New York as a new type of henchman.
These large robots were similar in design to the Spider-Bots, but these had much more firepower. Seen more as a private army by the citizens of New York, these robots were despised by the innocent civilians they were created to protect. As such, Peter Parker quickly destroyed the army of bots once he had control of his own body again.

4Web Wings
A Gadget That Helps Spider-Man Fly
The version of Spider-Man that originally debuted in Amazing Fantasy Comicswas a different hero from the one fans know today. Peter Parker was still a young student, but the writing in this issue was more focused on his sense of right from wrong, rather than his teen drama. As such, the early issues of Spider-Man often saw the herogliding around the cityusing his web wings instead of going for a therapeutic swing.
As time went on, the creators realized that fans were much more drawn to Spider-Man’s web-swinging abilities, so the web wings were scrapped. However, this tool still has its uses, and some artists will include them in new issues of Spider-Man.

3Spider-Signal
Perfect For Fighting Crime At Night
Most comic book fans refer to issues and runs released in the 1990s asthe ‘extreme 90s’. This is because almost every comic book character at the time was being re-imagined to be edgy and dark to keep up with the media’s aging fan base. While Spider-Man was not one to suffer as harshly from a re-design as other heroes, a lot of his stories from this time were written to take place at night. As a result, the Spider-Signal was introduced.
The Spider-Signal was a small light attached to Spider-Man’s belt. The light was shaped to look like the hero’s mask and could change size. This allowed Spider-Man to light up dark areas, frighten off enemies, or call for help.

2Spider-Tracer
One Of Spidey’s Most Impressive Tools
Spider-Man is one of the brightest minds in theMarvel Comicsuniverse. Sadly, the character does not always have the equipment to demonstrate this fact as often as some other heroes. However, his web tracers may just be the most genius invention of any superhero.
The Spider-Tracer is a small bug that can be placed on an enemy so that Spider-Man can track and find its location at a later date. This gadget is a great weapon for Spider-Man to use when solving crimes, but it is also a valuable asset for writers of the character who are juggling multiple plots. Spider-Man can quickly place a tracer on a bad guy to deal with something else and then come back to the scene with more information.

1Spider Armor
A Silver Spider-Man Suit With Extra Protection
Long before Peter Parker was given the Iron Spider suit by Tony Stark, he had to find his own way to protect himself while fighting crime. Spider-Man may be super strong, but he is not invincible. This is a fact the hero soon learned when the New Enforcers invaded New York in the early 90s. This group of villains used a lot of heavy firearms, so Peter had to find a way to take on the gang without getting killed.
His solution was a silver Spider-Man suit that he crafted at Empire State University, and has since been dubbed the Spider Armor. This new suit was a fan favorite that gave Spider-Man a bit ofextra protection against bulletsat the cost of slowing him down slightly.
