Nayuta soon meets a floating pixie-like girl named Noi who asks Nayuta to help restore her world and a sleeping girl that guards it. That’s the basic premise ofThe Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trailsbut there is so much more to say. For starters, here are some tips onhow to make Nayuta strongerthrough a variety of means.
7Killing Monsters
The easiest way to get stronger is through traditional leveling up. Nayuta can hack and slash away at enemies thus earning EXP. Leveling up will boost stats and players will not earn anything extra such as skill points to spend on askill tree like in other RPGs.
The one unique thing about leveling up and the overall design ofThe Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trailsis that the game is divided up into stages like in an action game. Players can go into a stage, fight through waves of monsters, and then repeat the process. There are other reasons to replay stages, but more on that later.

6The Weapon Shop
Nihon Falcom gameshave a unique trait that carries over between games. InThe Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, players can buy Nayuta gear such as weapons and armor. Unlike other RPGs wherein these items can be discarded or sold off, they are kept in the inventory in this game and most other Nihon Falcom games.

Players can fast-travel back to Remnant Isle whenever they feel like talking to the shopkeeper at the weapon shop, Ada, and get some new gear. A good starting weapon upgrade would be the Short Blade. Players could also hold out for the Legion Blade but at 2500, it costs a lot. For armor, be sure to pick up the Bandana, Leather Breastplate, and Leather Guard.
5Sunset General Store
There is another store in town but this one is great to get items for Nayuta’s partner, Noi. The Sunset General Store is run by Sasha who always has a chipper mood. She can sell Noi costumes and accessories that will increase stats like Intelligence which will in turn raise magical attacks.
Accessories like the Hair Clip will grant players specific buffs such as monsters dropping more collectibles. Collectibles can be sold to the museum in town for Mira, which is this game’sversion of currency. Mira is the ultimate way to upgrade Nayuta in the game, so the Hair Clip is a day-one purchase.

4Learning To Cook
Players can heal in a stage by collecting things from monsters or by eating lunchboxes. Nayuta’s sister, Eartha, can teach him how to cook. Once a recipe is made, players can recreate that on the world map. It’s a trope at this point to includecooking in a gamebut it is simple to master inThe Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails.
Eating food does more than heal as they will all grant Nayuta EXP. Some of them even have bonuses like the Steamed Pork Bun which can increase the Strength stat. It’s also worth mentioning that the Sunset General Store sells ingredients for these recipes along with new recipe books. Once purchased, Eartha will be able to prepare more meals for her brother.

3Learning Sword Techniques
Nayuta has a sword master who hangs out on one of the beaches in town. Master Orbus can give players a few strategy tips for combat, but he can also teach them permanent skills. Players can learn these skills by filling out a punch card.
Stages will have three stars attached to them. Completing certain missions in stages will reward these stars to the player. Collect enough stars and Master Orbus will teach those aforementioned techniques to Nayuta. Swirling Slash and Downward Thrust are the first two. So there are reasons to replay stages besides grinding for EXP like inother action RPGs.

2Noi’s Abilities
Nayuta is not the only character that can learn techniques for combat. Throughout the story, Noi will be able to get new abilities too. For Switch players, the B button jumps, A is used for all of Nayuta’shacking and slashing, and Y belongs to Noi and these special abilities.

Plum Shot is the starting ability for Noi and this shoots out a basic pink shot at enemies. Fleur Edge is the next one and it sort of shoots out a spinning pink blade which is great for area attacks. These skills can be leveled up if players defeat an enemy using them, and the EXP bar can be tracked from Noi’s menu.
1Tackle Quests
The absolute basic mechanic that mostRPGs include is side quests. The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trailswill signal players when there are side quests available back in town with a little letter icon. There is no way to hunt them down with a map icon in town, but that’s fine as the island is relatively small.
Completing quests will lead to rewards, most often Mira, which again can lead to upgrading Nayuta more quickly. An early quest is called “Helping With Checkups” and players will have to help Dr. Hydel track down patients. The reward at the end is a model plane which can then be sold to the museum for a whopping 2200 Mira.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trailswas re-released on August 04, 2025, and is available on PC, PS4, and Switch.
