The Prime beverage popularized byYouTubecontent creators KSI and Logan Paul is making waves in the United Kingdom as shoppers fight over limited stock and stores issue limits to prevent further chaos. The popular Prime drink has been rolling out to various retail chains in North America since it launched earlier this year, and the UK is just the latest region to adopt the thirst quencher headed by twoYouTubepersonalities.Twitter user Markbenhall was among many people sharing their experiences on December 29 shopping for the Prime drink at an Aldi, highlighting a mob of customers gathering around the small stack of remaining bottles. There are six flavors of the Prime drink fromKSI and Logan Paulavailable in North America, while UK customers are currently only able to choose between Lemon Lime, Ice Pop, and Blue Raspberry. With the majority of UK customers grabbing one of each available flavor, the Meta Moon, Grape, and Tropical Punch Prime drinks have still yet to make it to the region.RELATED:Logan Paul Turns Down Big Money Fight Offer from Wiz KhalifaMarkbenhall’s Twitter video shows adults and kids at Aldi digging into a shopping cart and boxes containing the Prime drink popularizedby Logan Paul and KSI celebrity boxing, with an off-camera employee shouting the rules over the crowd noise. A separate video from Prime Tracker UK shows the same exact scene being highlighted at a different angle, giving Logan Paul and KSI fans an idea of how chaotic the scene at Aldi was on December 29. In the complimentary video, at least one patron is shown grabbing several more bottles than other customers as the person recording the clip laughs in response to the clambering.
Although some customers were holding more than three bottles of the Prime drink featured on the Logan Paul andKSI YouTube channels, photos of checkout counters at Aldi have shown a strict adherence to the rule set by the store. Similar to other popular products being scalped in recent years like graphics cards, consoles, and smartphones, the Prime drink is also being scalped online, with some empty bottles even being listed for thousands of pounds due to scarcity. Because this UK Prime release only focuses on the three aforementioned flavors, this may not be the worst of the chaos at such retail outlets as Meta Moon, Grape, and Tropical Punch will attract their own consumers.
While this UK Aldi quickly sold out of its Prime stock, it’s likely that stores in the region will be resupplied as the product disappears so rapidly in an attempt to keep up with demand. It’s currently unclear when the remaining Prime flavors will be added to the UK lineup, but it’s likely that YouTube fans in the region will be updated through KSI orLogan Paul’s channelswhich are often used to keep viewers in the loop.
