TheMetal Gearfranchise has been seeing a bit of a resurgence in 2023, when Konami announced both a remastered collection of the entire franchise and a remake ofMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The newfound support for the series is also being celebrated through Metal Gear in Concert 2023, the first concert revolving around the series in three years. Two iconic vocalists of the series, Donna Burke and Cynthia Harrell, will be performing live at the event as well.

Donna Burke and Cynthia Harrell are names synonymous with the franchise because both singers have previously sungMetal Gear Solidtheme songs. Donna Burke performed “Heavens Divide” and “Sins of the Father” forPeace WalkerandThe Phantom Pain, along with contributing to remixes of past themes. Cynthia Harrell, however, is the singer behind the iconicSnake Eatertheme, which plays after the game’s opening act.
