For now,Werewolf by Nightis a one-off show that introduces Elsa Bloodstone to the MCU. She is a monster hunter in the comics who has starred in solo adventures along with classic team-ups including some with Doctor Strange. Her entry into the MCU now could be telling as to where the next few Marvel phases are heading.

8Ulysses Bloodstone’s Animated Corpse
One of the more amusing parts ofWerewolf by Nightis when all of the monster hunters gather in the parlor to hear a briefing. That’s when the corpse of Ulysses Bloodstone gets reanimated to explain the situation at hand.
It’s easy enough to make a corpse move with various parts but the voice work is something different entirely. He could have recorded the voiceover before he died but he alluded to things he shouldn’t have known after death. Was there more at hand with his corpse involvingsome sort of witchcraft?
7Elsa Bloodstone’s Motives And Past
Werewolf by Nightis a very brief special involving theworld of the MCU. Viewers don’t get much time to get to know Elsa and what she was doing prior to arriving at the estate. There seems to be a disconnect between her and the family but why exactly this is the case remains a mystery.
She also tells Jack she hunts monsters but not in a traditional way like how Jack alluded to his job. How does Elsa fight monsters then and what has she fought up to this point? There are so many mysteries surrounding her character.
6Jack And Ted
Jack is another character that viewers get virtually no information about. One thing they do learn is that he is a werewolf, which brings up a lot of questions for the MCU. First and foremost, viewers will likely be wondering how exactly he got turned into a werewolf in the first place.

Is ita genetic mutationlike Beast from the X-Men or is it more like a disease? He somehow found Ted, which raises a whole other set of questions, but what or who else has Jack rescued from monster hunters? Suffice it to say, Jack and Ted should be returning for someone else’s MCU adventure eventually if they don’t get their own show.
5What Does The Bloodstone Do?
The Bloodstone is supposed to be a powerful relic that helps Elsa’s family fight monsters. That’s why everyone is hungry to get it as power can be an enticing reward. There are two things shown inWerewolf by Nightwhen it comes to what it can do. Attaching it to a beast will weaken it and it can repel monsters like Jack in his werewolf form and suppress them into submission like some sort of psychic attack.
If that is all it can do it doesn’t seem like that cool of a relic to pass down from generation to generation. Also, it’s a big stone so why not break it apart and hand it off to multiple hunters so that theycan fight werewolvesand other wee beasties together?
4Poor Planning
The very concept of this special isa Battle Royalewith monsters in the background, which is inherently a very cool idea. However, the idea doesn’t make sense in the world set up inWerewolf by Night. There just aren’t that many hunters left in the world.
Why then would Ulysses pit them against each other in a game of death? The fewer hunters there are, the more chaos monsters can create. One person surely cannot fight armies of darkness by themselves even with the power of the Bloodstone at hand with all of its vague powers.
3The Mausoleum Lock
After a daring fight with a couple of rival hunters, Elsa gets herself trapped in her family’s mausoleum. It can open from the outside but it is locked from the inside. Jack manages to escape a near-death encounter as well, rushing into the mausoleum only to get trapped.

The odd part about this scene is that the hunter on the outside cannot open the mausoleum doors unlike Jack for some reason. Why did it work for Jack and not this other hunter? The whole setup works out in the end as Elsa finds keys, but why would a mausoleum on the family property need to be locked in the first place?
2Why Was Elsa Afraid Of Jack Suddenly?
Viewers don’t get a lot of time with Elsa but there is one thing she exudes with her presence: confidence. She’s a snarky character that talks back to whoever has it coming. She’s nota martial artsexpert but she is skilled in combat.
Why then did she suddenly become mopey in the cage with Jack? She knew she might die by his hand if he turned into a werewolf which can be scary. However, she could have just as easily thought of a way out. It’s an odd turn for her character inWerewolf by Night.
1When Does The Movie Take Place?
This might be one of the more puzzling aspects ofWerewolf by Night. Theblack and white filterand general aura make it feel like it could take place in the 1920s or 1930s. However, some of the technology, like the lances the soldiers have, are a bit high-tech. The language is a bit modern too.
The best bet is that it does take place in the modern era but that doesn’t mean it has to take place concurrently with every other MCU show and movie. The events inWerewolf by Nightcould have happened at any point, even before the firstAvengersmovie, so it will be interesting to see the eventual reveal.
