InUbisoft’s recent Q3 FY2020 investor call, CEO Yves Guillemot shined a little light on the publisher’s plans moving forward. He revealed that there will be five new triple-A games releasing in the 2020-2021 fiscal year, meaning that each of these titles will released by March 2021. More specifically, 3 games will launch by December 2020, with 2 more following by March 2021 of that year. This spells good news for a lot ofUbisofttitles, but there are some that are more disappointing.
Three of these games are likely to be from the prior Ubisoft delays, meaning gamers can likely expect to get their hands onWatch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, andGods and Monstersby this time. It’s uncertain when exactly these games will release during this time schedule, especially when factoring in the other two games. The first is the viking-focusedAssassin’s Creed Ragnarok, which has been heavily implied to release in the fall of 2020, and thenow-leakedFar Cry 6game.

In response to this news, gaming journalist Jason Schreier confirmed that the two unknown games in the line up are, in fact,Assassin’s Creed RagnarokandFar Cry 6. Considering Schreier confirmedleaks surroundingAC: Ragnarokwhen it first leaked viaDivision 2, it comes as no surprise that he’s able to solidify these final two games. Of course, this doesn’t bode well for other Ubisoft franchises however.
With this line-up all but officially confirmed, that means there’s a free games left in the dust. Presumably, this pushesBeyond Good and Evil 2even further back, though despite its E3 2017 revealing, has never had a release window.Splinter Cellis another franchise that Ubisofthas teased returning to in the past, but if it does, then it’s not likely to happen prior to March 2021.
For fans of thedelayed titles likeWatch Dogs Legion, the upcomingAssassin’s Creedtitle, and even unconfirmed but heavily-desired games likeSplinter Cell, this news confirms a wait for everyone. How long of a wait that becomes for some of these remains to be seen, but it seems that Ubisoft is determined to end this year with a bang and hopefully keep that momentum up going through 2021.
