Many gamers familiar with theTwitchstreaming scene know Mizkif for his variety of unique content. Something fans may not know, however, is that Mizkif has been dealing with some long-term health issues related to his heart. While usually not at the forefront of topics, the streamer gave his fanbase a status update on these heart problems today.
Mizkif, who’s real name is Matthew Rinaudo, is one of the founding members of gaming organization One True King, and one of the top American streamers for Twitch. Although the streamer has made a name for himself on the Amazon-owned streaming platform,Mizkif revealed he’d leave Twitch for YouTubeif given the right offer.

Since at least June 2019, Mizkif has been battling myocarditis; an inflammation of the heart muscle which weakens the heart, causing it to work harder. Typically a result of a viral infection, symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain, inability to exercise, and irregular heartbeat. However, in worst-case scenarios, myocarditis can cause heart complications leading to heart failure and is potentially fatal. Mizkif reportedly experienced heart palpitations and chest pain over the years, becoming severe enough to prevent him from streaming at times. Fortunately, a recent tweet reveals his heart is “one hundred percent” normal again.
While Mizkif has yet to reveal the granular details behind his diagnosis, the statement has caused an outpouring of love and support from the streaming community, including prominent creators like Pokimane. The good medical news seems to be a reversal of fortune for Mizkif who, just back in January, had hiscar hit in a parking lot for roughly $100,000 in damages. The incident occurred during a livestream where Mizkif and newly-inducted One True King member Emiru were out at an arcade, where a security guard informed Mizkif his Audi R8 had been hit by a truck.
While the outpouring of support for Mizkif is heartening, he isn’t the only streamer whose health is being thought of by viewers. Just a few months ago, the previously mentionedEmiru addressed mental health concernsafter some of the streamers began interpreting certain behaviors. Fans believed her extensive collections to be a form of hoarding, although the streamer has stated she’s “more than okay.” It’s certainly encouraging to see fans express concern and care for the well-being of streamers and gaming content creators.
Although it’s unclear if Mizkif is entirely free of myocarditis, theTwitchstreamer seems happy to be fully healthy again and back to creating more content - just not anything involving theSuper Mario 64long jump exploit.
