Reddit user New_Help_2261 recently built a cage of sorts that they used to trap one ofZelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s unlucky NPCs. Instead of simply leaving the NPC stuck in the box, the object bounced and flew wildly into the sky. It’s unclear exactly why this occurred, but it won’t necessarily happen every time aZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer tries to trap an NPC.
Users responding to the post ran into different outcomes when trapping NPCs in the game. Reddit user emannlight attempted to trap traveling merchant Beedle inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, only for him to respawn at a nearby stable. It’s speculated that this was becauseBeedle has greater importance inTears of the Kingdomthan the random NPC seen in the video, as players are able to purchase items from him instead of just chat. It’s possible the game is designed in a way that important NPCs like Beedle respawn elsewhere if they happen to get trapped.
Tormenting NPCs has become a pastime of sorts for someTears of the Kingdomplayers, particularly when it comes to the Koroks. ThroughoutTears of the Kingdom’s open world Hyrule, players can find Koroks that are simply looking for some help to get back to their traveling buddies. Unfortunately for these Koroks, they can be attached to objects with Ultrahand, which has resulted in players subjecting them to some absolutely bizarre torture. For example, someTears of the Kingdomplayers have gone as far as tocrucify the Koroksthey’ve come across in the game. As more fans get their hands on the game, there’s no telling how elseTears of the Kingdomplayers will harass NPCs with the Ultrahand ability.
