TheSuper Mario Bros. Wonderpresentation showed off the game’s Badge system, allowing for enhanced movement with a variety of new techniques. The newest broadcast would also showcase Wonder Effects, the game’s main gimmick.

Touching Wonder Flowers can have a variety of effects depending on the stage, including transforming Mario into a Goomba or a Spike Ball. Several ofSuper Mario Bros. Wonder’s Wonder Effectswill affect the in-game stages, creating a stampede of enemies that players will have to navigate or sending players floating through space. Some Wonder Effects even have major impacts on the way the game is played, tilting the stage or shifting it into a top-down perspective.

Players can earn Wonder Seeds both by navigating the “Wonder” segments of each stage, as well as receiving one as a reward for clearing stages.
