Rising speculation is leading many to believe that a newCowboy Bebopgame is in the works, developed by well-known animation and games studio Sunrise Inc. If the rumors prove to be true, we’d be treated to another piece ofCowboy Bebopcontent, following the live-action Netflix series,starring John Cho, known for his roles inStar Trek, Harold and Kumar,andAmerican Pie.Recently, Japanese studio Sunrise Inc. who is mostly known for its production ofMobile Suit Gundammovies, has applied to create a new IP under theCowboy Bebopname. This isn’t Sunrise Inc.’s first foray into the acclaimed sci-fi anime, as previoulsy the studio producedCowboy Bebop: The Movie(2001), nor will this be Sunrise Inc.’s first video game. The second game was created for the PlayStation 2, entitledCowboy Bebop: Tsuioku no Serenade.With the most recent game being released in 2005 and only playable for Japanese gamers, anotherCowboy Bebopgame now would scratch that space-faring,bounty hunting itch thatCowboy Bebopprovides.Though there is gathering speculation that aCowboy Bebopgame may be in the works, speculation is all that we’re going to have for quite some time it seems. With only an application filed for the use of the IP so far, it seems Sunrise Inc. only have the concept of the game it wants to create, if that.ACowboy Bebopgame has great potential, but it remains to be seen what shape it would take.Whatever form the game does take, no doubt theCowboy Bebopgame will have strong visuals thanks to the animation expertise of Sunrise Inc.
