SteamWorld Buildis a city-building game that requires players to make the best city they can in the post-apocalyptic SteamWorld universe. There are several resources that gamers will need to find to make their city thrive on the arid planet. To construct most buildings and items, players will have to get their hands on tons of boards, but this can prove quite difficult at times.
This guide will tell players everything they need to know about acquiring boards inSteamWorld Build, and it will also provide some useful tips that will help them increase their board count significantly.

How to Get Boards From Logs
The straightforward way to get boards inSteamWorld Buildis to transform logs into boards. This requires players to create a couple of buildings and put them in an optimal location.
First, players will have tobuild a Forester; they can do this by opening the Worker tab in Build Mode and selecting the Forester in the Lumbermill section. With this building their city, workers will now chop down trees and turn them into logs, which is the material that’s needed to create boards. When gamers place down the Forester, they should keep its efficiency in mind - if it’s a high-efficiency building, workers won’t take as long to produce logs.

The Forester will employ up to 15 workers.
Next, players will have to turn the logs into boards, and they can do this bybuilding a Lumbermill. This building can be found in the Lumbermill section in the Worker tab while Build Mode is active.
How to Farm Boards
There are a few ways to increase the number of boards a city has in storage:
Players can alter their board generation speed greatly by moving their Foresters to improve their efficiency. If they have enough workers, they can build more Forester and Lumbermill buildings. On top of this, they can alsoedit Foresters and Lumbermill andassign beneficial item modificationsto increase their production speed or production chance.

While changing buildings' placements and modifications is a great way to increase the number of available logs, and thus the number of stored boards, it’s also important to look into trading;players can also get boards passively if they trade another resource for it. If the city is generating a high number of a certain resource, and perhaps even reached the warehouse’s maximum capacity, it should be trading this surplus for boards.
Players can trade by interacting with the Train Station; each time the train comes, it’ll take their resource somewhere else and replace it with the desired item.
