Summary

The Mantis is one of the best equipment sets thatStarfieldplayers can come across during the early game, and one mod makes it even cooler by turning it into Din Djarin’s iconic armor fromThe Mandalorian. Whilefinding a great legendary weapon inStarfieldis often the biggest source of player power in the game, it’s equally important to pair it up with a well-rolled spacesuit and helmet. To that end, a surefire way for players to get a decent set of legendary armor is by completing the Mantis questline inStarfield, which awards them a guaranteed legendary set bearing the same name, as well as the Razorleaf starship.

Admittedly, its visual appearance is an acquired taste, as manyStarfieldplayers have complained that the “scientist-meets-space-clown” look isn’t doing much for them. It’s consistently been mentioned as one of the ugliest armor sets in the entire game, and though the concept itself is cool, it unfortunately hasn’t translated well into the game. In a myriad ofStarfieldmodsthat have already released in an attempt to glam up the latest Bethesda title, it makes sense that one of them would attempt to tackle the visuals of the Mantis.

The mod was showcased on the officialStarfieldsubreddit by authorizedscott, but themod itself onStarfieldNexuswas made by Xaroph with some help from Acacyn for the Starborn helmet retexture. Simply put, thisStarfieldmod replaces the Mantis set with a retextured Guard armor and a retextured Starborn helmet, resulting in a look that is directly inspired by Din Djarin fromThe Mandalorian. The mod also has alternate outfits for players who prefer Boba Fett or Jango Fett, as well as darker leather options for Din Djarin’s armor.

This isn’t the firstStar Warsthemed content to emerge for the latest Bethesda game, asStormtroopers are already inStarfieldon patrol across the Settled Systems. Outside the modding scene, many fans have passionately shared starship designs inspired byStar Wars, from the Millennium Falcon and Slave One, to more ambitiously-scaled projects such as the Star Destroyer.

Onceofficial modding tools release forStarfieldin early 2024, players are bound to see more faithful recreations of Din Djarin’s armor, as the modders are currently mos restricted to retextures. If past Bethesda releases are anything to go by, chances are thatStarfieldwill be a whole new experience in a year from now, with many of its current shortcomings either replaced by mods or revised through official content like the upcoming Shattered Space DLC.

Starfieldis available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
