It looks as though Eman Esfandi’s time as Ezra Bridger may not be limited to the upcoming Disney Plus seriesStar Wars:Ahsoka. A new rumor from an industry insider seems to suggest that not only will Esfandi continue to play the character, but he will do so in his own live-action spinoff.
Prominent leaker Daniel RPK just offered an enticing bit of info that, granted, is currently still unconfirmed. He claims that, aside from appearing as thebelovedStar Wars RebelscharacterEzra Bridger onAhsoka, Esfandi has also signed on to star in his own live-actionStar Warsseries as the same not-quite-so-young-anymore Jedi. Again, it’s difficult to verify this rumour, but it comes from a source who’s been accurate before.

Daniel RPK’s claim indicates that the rumored Ezra Bridger series will focus on the character alone, but it’s unclear whether it will be a direct sequel toStar Wars Rebelsor more of a follow-up toAhsoka. WhenEsfandi was cast as Ezra Bridger, it came as a surprise to many who expectedAladdinstar Mena Massoud to take on the role. But perhaps this new rumor could indicate that the casting has been planned for quite some time, given how another spinoff could already potentially be on the table.
Star Wars Rebelssaw young Ezra Bridger (voiced by Taylor Gray) make his way from poor street kid on Lothal to one of the most important figures inthe fledgling Rebel Alliance. After spending the relatively short series discovering his Force sensitivity and training as a Jedi with his mentor, Kanan Jarrus (voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.), he was last seen disappearing into hyperspace with Grand Admiral Thrawn in a daring gambit.
In the time since, Ahsoka (now played in live-action by Rosario Dawson after being voiced by Ashley Eckstein) has appeared onThe Mandalorianteasing her own search for Thrawn, which immediately hinted at the possibility that Ezra would show up in her upcoming series. Along withNatasha Liu Bordizzo as the Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren(formerly voiced by Tiya Sircar), she will reportedly still be searching for Ezra inAhsokaafter the duo set out to find him in the epilogue ofStar Wars Rebels.
It’s unclear how much this rumor can be trusted, and it should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. But Daniel RPK has been correct before when he leaked thatone of the X-Men would appear inDoctor Strange 2. Here’s hoping that streak continues, because Ezra’s story still has plenty more to tell.
