A newly revealed pre-order offering forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomhas some fans scratching their heads. A pre-order bonus from Amazon Japan includes a physical spoon, stamped withThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomlogo. While eating food is a mechanic inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and likely part ofTears of the Kingdom, too, celebrating the feature with a spoon pre-order bonus seems a bit odd for Nintendo.Food inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis an interesting feature that had its detractors among the game’s playerbase. Players were able to gather ingredients acrossBreath of the Wild’s map, throw them into a campfire stove, and make a meal offering buffs and bonus stats with relative ease. But, for many, making food was rarely a necessity. While cooking details forTears of the Kingdomhave yet to be shared, many are hoping for improvements to make the feature more robust.RELATED:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Skipping Major Gaming EventIt’s unclear if Amazon Japan’s decision to offer aThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomspoon as a pre-order bonus is related to cooking in the game, but it’s happening nevertheless. EveryonepurchasingThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomearlyon Amazon Japan will be sent the spoon as a bonus. Along the spoon’s handle isThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s name, as well as theZeldalogo.

For those hoping to have a full set ofZeldautensils, there’s more where the spoon came from. Those pre-orderingThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Collector’s Editionwill also receive a fork. The fork, much like the spoon, will have theZeldatitle and logo stamped on its handle. It’s not even a full single set of utensils, as there’s no knife offered, but with both a spoon and a forkZeldafans might be able to enjoy a full meal.

The decision to offer a spoon and fork as pre-order bonuses forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis somewhat bizarre. The one connection fans can think of is that it has to do with thefood feature inBreath of the Wild, carried over intoTears of the Kingdom. But it’s also possible that someone thinksZeldafans may just have a use for a spoon and a fork.

Leaks ofThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s art book have made clear that food will still be a big part of the game. PerhapsTears of the Kingdom’s spoon and fork will inspire players to create some of the game’s meals in real life. Sadly, the pre-order bonuses aren’t being offered in the United States. WesternZeldafans will have to make do with utensils that don’t haveThe Legend of Zeldalogo on them.
