OneThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimplayer has found themselves in a bit of difficult situation: they’ve racked up a total of over 121,000 septim worth of bounties across all the game’s major areas. It’s an impressive feat that surely means the player left an incredible trail of bodies and general mayhem in their path acrossSkyrim.
The Elder Scrollsgames take place within the land of Tamriel, which is broken up into a handful of provinces.Skyrimis the northernmost province, and it itself is broken into nine regions, or “holds.” If a player is caught pocketing a sweet roll in any hold, even by accident, they can get slapped with a small bounty for their arrest, and maybe even an overzealous guard on their trail trying to lob their head off. The bounties increase along with additional crimes committed.Murdering someSkyrimtownsfolk in cold bloodin plain sight is akin to racking up five stars in theGrand Theft Autogame – all ofSkyrim’slaw enforcement officers will come crashing down upon you like an angry Daedric God.

Reddit user almightycurator’s 121,000 septims of bounties range from a relatively paltry 5,215 in Hjaalmarch in the provinces’ Midwest to an astounding 25,480 in the Northwest regions of Haarfingar. That Haarfingar number represents the highest bounty almightycurator has ever racked up inthe world ofSkyrim, according to the image they shared from the “Crime” subheading of the “General Stats” tab of the in-game menu.
According to theSkyrimwiki, murder, (unless in self-defense, and unless the attacker is a guard) can result in a bounty of 1,000 septims. Similarly, shape-shifting into a werewolf or vampire also results in a 1,000 septim bounty. For efficiency’s sake, most of that total must have been the result of a coast-to-coast murder spree that hardly left a soul alive in the entire province. According to almightycurator in a reply to a fellow Redditor, that’s exactly what happened. Almightycurator lived out the kind of dream manySkyrimplayershave had but are too lazy to accomplish: they claim to have killed every nonessential NPC in every hold capital.
Players often don’t just go on aSkyrimkilling spree this epic for no reason. Almightycurator was trying tounlock an achievement inSkyrimthat they misunderstood. The “Master Criminal” achievement requires players to rack up a 1,000 septim bounty in allSkyrimholds. Almightycurator got confused and thought it was 10,000 each.
