WithResident Evil 8slated to hit shelves later this May, fans are desperately searching for any and all information concerning the next iteration of the iconic franchise. Although Capcom’s recent gameplay video, demo, and trailer all begin to offer some small hints towards the title’s overarching plot, some fans have pointed out thatthe collector’s editioncomes with its own subtle teases concerning where players will be heading in the game.
This is through the physical release’s cloth map, which can be seen in a variety of collector’s edition photos posted by Capcom. While the map itself doesn’t reveal too much about the game, it does begin to hint where players will be visiting when they jump into the world ofResident Evil 8and how the game’s world will be laid out.

The map makes it plenty clear that players will be visiting a variety of locales as they venture through the world ofResident Evil Village, including a mill, a suspension bridge, and a mysterious stronghold. More importantly, however, the map seems to indicate there will be four big areas that Ethan will wind up journeying to in the game. The first is Castle Dimitrescu, which is located at the top of the map. This is the area fans know the most about thus far, journeying through the medieval environment while playing theMaidendemoand seeing a lot of its interiors through the sequel’s recent gameplay trailer.
At the bottom left is Heisenberg’s factory. Heisenberg is presumably the ominous villain in sunglasses who threatens Ethan with a hammer duringthe recent trailer at theResident Evilshowcase, with fans also gathering that he’s the character Lady Dimitrescu refers to as her brother. On top of those two locations are Moreau’s Reservoir and House Beneviento, which are two names not yet referenced inResident Evil 8’scoverage. The final detail of note is the lake besides Heisenberg’s factory, with the location appearing to house a giant fish-like monster. Whatever it is, it seems the sequel could be looking to pay homage toResident Evil 4’siconic boss fight with Del Lago.
The map is definitely an exciting addition forResident Evil 8speculators, offering a decent overview of the upcoming game’s suite of locations alongside what appears to be a hint towards one of the game’s boss encounters. Luckily, it won’t be long until players get to discover the map for themselves in-game, withResident Evil 8slated to release in just a few months' time.
Resident Evil 8will be available on May 7 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
