The Merchant, in particular, can be spotted in select areas where players can stock up on health items and weapons before diving into another fight. However, some players would also shoot him, and he would only respawn in other locations. In theResident Evil 4remake though, players won’t be able to shoot at the Merchant. Spotted by YouTuber GameXplain, Leon will automatically lower his gun when it’s pointed towards the NPC, letting him live another day.

In the past,Resident Evil 4developer Capcom revealed many changes made for the remake. One of the biggest changes wasmaking Ashley more self-reliant, which is an improvement from the 2005 game where players were burdened with commanding her to stay put and hide. Capcom also removed certain elements from the game in hopes of improving the overall experience, like QTEs, the crane mini-game that players pushed enemies off a ledge with, and the laser room.

The changes have garnered mostly positive reactions from manyResident Evilfans, with some feeling sad thatCapcom killed off the police officerand one of the dogs who originally appeared in the first arc of the game. It’s possible that players might find other new elements once they get their hands on the newResident Evil 4.

TheResident Evil 4remake joins the long list of iconic games likeFinal Fantasy 7andSilent Hill 2that have or are being remade to be compatible with current-gen consoles. Many gamers could expect more in the future, especially with the high demand for some old games to be remade with better graphics.
