Following what had appeared to be a licensed Chapter collaboration forThe Terminator,Dead by Daylightsurprised fans by releasing its latest original Chapter. This new Chapter has been met with a largely disappointed reception from fans, with many stating that there is not a lot toDead by Daylight’s newest killer, the Skull Merchant. Much of this disappointment could be due to high expectations for what the killer could have been after seeing her cinematic teaser, and fans are already longing for more.

Fortunately for fans,Dead by Daylightis known to release new Chapter content often. It seems as if original and licensed content are met with equal standards and expectations, though original characters have much more ground to cover as opposed to licensed characters who may already have dedicated fans.Resident Evilis one of the more prolific collaborationsDead by Daylighthas had, with numerous skins and characters added in individual Chapter updates and optional cosmetic packs. Now that theResident Evil 4remake is around the corner, another collaboration seems like a no-brainer.

Dead by Daylighthas become an outlet for inspired and faithfulResident Evilcontent for a while now. If that continues to be a fruitful collaboration for both Behaviour Interactive and Capcom, it would only make sense to presume that more related content will debut inDead by Daylightat some point in the future.

Dead by Daylightalready features a skin for Leon S. Kennedy where he wears the iconic sheepskin leather bomber jacket fromResident Evil 4.The remake’s release later this month would be a great opportunity to throw in some other references with associated skins or an entire Chapter dedicated to it. If the latter were to come true, thenDead by Daylightcould take inspiration from characters and their appearances for skin cosmetics, let alone whole locations appearing in the remake forEntity realm maps.

There are a number of memorable locations thatDead by Daylightcould adapt as realm maps, with the most obvious choice being the rural Spain village ambush at the beginning ofResident Evil 4. It is unclear how early into the remake this sequence will occur, but it has been confirmed through gameplay footage to be reprised. In this sequence, Leon wades through a seemingly infinite mob of Ganados while ducking in-and-out of small village houses encircling a tall bonfire. This layout would give survivor characters inDead by Daylightample opportunity to loop a killer around houses and along rooftops, and most closely emulateDead by Daylight’s Dead Dawg Saloonas a result.

Otherwise, there would be atmospheric value in a map resembling the island’s Regenerador laboratory, serving as a more claustrophobic interior similar to Lery’s Memorial Institute. TheResident Evil 4remake could also introduce new areas that strive to be as memorable as those in the original, and it would be exciting to see a new area used as a realm map inDead by Daylightif it truly excels at producing survival-horror tension.

Either way, it seems like only a matter of time before such maps are added to accompany the Raccoon City Police Department, and it would not be surprising to see skins resembling Ashley or Luis, as well as alternate appearance skins for Ada or Leon.Dead by Daylight’s RPDhas seen a mixed reception with fans adoring its one-to-one replication of the map fromResident Evil 2remake, but unsure if it is unbalanced toward survivors or killers. A new map from theResident Evilfranchise could try to rectify that issue.

Dead by Daylightis available now for Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
