WhenPokemon Scarlet and Violetwere first revealed, only a handful of Pokemon were shown in the trailer. But by extension, the confirmation of those Pokemon also confirmed their evolutions and baby forms. Now that a secondPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer has dropped, even more Pokemon have been confirmed for the games along with their evolution lines, so that we now have 80 Pokemon confirmed for the games at the time of this writing.

Out of the 80 Pokemon confirmed forPokemon Scarlet and Violetso far, eight of them are brand-new Pokemon. The previously revealedPokemon Scarlet and Violetstarters(Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly) are all new, and they are joined by the freshly revealed Lechonk, Pawmi, and Smoliv.Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave also confirmed the two box art legendaries that players will be able to collect in the game, with one exclusive toScarletand the other exclusive toViolet.

Pokemon Scarletplayers will be able to catch the legendary Pokemon Koraidon, whereasPokemon Violetplayers can catch Miraidon. The two Pokemon both look like dragons and are presumably Dragon-type, though their specific typing has not been confirmed at the time of this writing. They seem to be themed after thetwo new Pokemon professorsthat players will meet in the games, though the extent of that remains to be seen.

Between now and thePokemon Scarlet and Violetrelease date, there will be many more Pokemon revealed for the games.Pokemonfans likely count on more returning Pokemon forScarlet and Violet, but one has to imagine that there will be plenty more brand-new Pokemon to look forward to as well. It’s also possible thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill have regional variantsthat offer new looks for existing Pokemon, though that has yet to be confirmed at the time of this writing.
