Pokemon GOtrainers who are addicted to Battle Raids have life better than ever. A ton of improvements have been made to make the game more user friendly (and play-at-home friendly) since March and it is easier to jump into a Battle Raid with a group of friends than ever before. The Remote Raid pass releasewas a serious game changer, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.
This week, Niantic began to roll out the new Battle Raid invite feature for high level players. The new feature allows players who are in a Raid Lobby (thanks to a Premium Raid Pass, Raid Pass, or Remote Raid Pass) the ability to invite Friends to the Battle Raid, as well. This means that, as long as all other players have a Remote Raid Pass to burn, only one player needs to be close enough to the Raid to reach the lobby and start the timer. Combined withthe change to when Raid Passes are consumed, this has the potential to totally change the way many players raid going forward.

The new feature isn’t available for everyone yet and the rollout has stopped at level 32 at this point. For now, Niantic plans to not extend access to lower levels just yet and monitor the new feature with the current group of players to identify and work through any potential bugs.
But, let’s get to the important part: How do you invite friends to a Battle Raid? It’s actually a pretty simple process. First, one player needs to actually enter a Battle Raid lobby. This can be done either at the Gym or with a Remote Raid Pass if the player selects the Gym from their Nearby menu.
Once the first player is in the lobby, they will see a new invite players button just above their current roster and to the right. It looks like a little green circle with a plus sign and a little avatar. From here, the player can invite any friends to join them in the raid. Players who are being invited should keep an eye on their own Nearby tab at the bottom of the screen. The Nearby section with glow orange when there is a pending invite and players can open the Nearby tab to see the invite. Once the invite arrives, players can click it to cash in a Remote Raid Pass (assuming they aren’t physically close to the Gym) and they will be transported to the battle.
It’s important to note that there is a current bug that makes it so players disappear from the Gym when their full roster faints. To get back into the battle, just return to the Nearby screen and click the invite again. This should resolve the issue. Niantic is aware of it and is hopefully working on a more graceful solution.
As trainers continue working through all of these amazing events, they may want to keep hunting downthe best Unova Pokemon in the gameif improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal.
