Legendary Battle Raid bosses put up a serious fight, but players who take the time to prepare and successfully face off against them are rewarded with loads of XP, valuable items, and encounters with some of themost meta-relevant Pokemon from across generations.
When it comes to preparing for each Battle Raid, there are a number of thingsPokemon GOtrainers need to keep in mind. Mostly importantly, players need to familiarize themselves with the boss' weaknesses in order to understand how to form the best counter roster for the big fight. When it comes to defeating a dual Dark-/Dragon-type like Guzzlord, that gives players a lot of interesting strategy opportunities.

Guzzlord’s unique dual pairing opens the boss up to a2x weakness against Fairy-type movesand a regular weakness against Dragon-, Bug-, Fighting-, and Ice-type move sets. That gives players a ton of different options for approaching their counter roster build. Even if trainers don’t have Mega Energy they can rely on, the wide range of weaknesses should still give them enough variety that they can pull together a respectable team to take down Guzzlord.
Guzzlord Weaknesses
This Battle Raid boss is a Dark- and Dragon-type combo, which means thatGuzzlord is weak to Bug-, Dragon-, Fairy-, Fighting, and Ice-type move sets. Guzzlord has a 2x weakness to Fairy-types.
Beedrill (Mega) - Bug Bite/X-Scissor
Charizard (Mega X) - Dragon Breath/Dragon Claw
Guzzlord has a pretty healthy HP pool, so trainers would be wise to bring at least a handful of friends along to the fight. For groups of experienced players with smart counters, teams of five should be able to take down this Legendary boss. Some veteran players withoptimal friendship and weather conditionsmay be able to swing smaller groups, but it’s wise to play it safe and not waste any Battle Raid passes if it seems too challenging.
