Niantic announces another change to the Regieleki Elite Raid this coming weekend inPokemon GO, this time delaying a feature that has left fans frustrated. It’s been a tough few weeks for the popular mobile title, as Niantic is currently embroiled in controversy with itsPokemon GOfanbase over planned changes coming to Remote Raid Passes.Niantic plans to not only increase the price of Remote Raid Passesbut also limiting how many can be acquired per day and incentivizing in person raids with better rewards. WhilePokemon GOhas certainly seen its fair share of controversies over the years, especially with howNiantic reversed many of the COVID specific quality of life changes, this latest one has seemingly been the final straw for many. While there are those attempting to organize a strike and boycott to playingPokemon GO, others have taken the more extreme step in selling their accounts entirely on places like eBay. However, it appears that plans have changed as a new Tweet from Niantic confirmed that the Timed Research was being delayed in order to “improve its intended distribution method.” Niantic is planning to offer the missions related toone of the stronger electric types in thePokemonfranchiseat a later, currently unannounced date.
Naturally, the news has not been met with much positivity fromPokemon GOfans. Most replies attempted to bring the discussion back to the Remote Raid Pass controversies with the hashtag involving the phrase HearUsNiantic. Others made mention of the fact that the Raid itself should also be moved as it currently resides on a date that is problematic for many.
While the announcement left a bad taste in the mouth of many, the whole event has certainly not been met with positivity either. The big problem many players have had with thisRegieleki event is that it actually takes place on Easter Sunday, a major holiday for people typically involving spending time with family. On top of that, the event is only available for a small window of time, which prompted players to comment that the entire thing would have been better off taking place 24 hours earlier on Saturday, April 8.
