Any die-hard fan ofPokemoncreepypastas knows the myth ofLavender Town. As if it wasn’t creepy enough that the small town contains one of the grimmest locations in any of the games, the graveyard known as Pokemon Tower, it’s rumored that the town’s signature tune released with the original versions ofPokemon Red & Bluecontained a specific frequency that could drive kids to commit unspeakable acts on themselves.

At the end of the day, this myth is just a hoax adding to the unsettling ambiance of Lavender Town. 3Pokemon Creepy Black

Pokemon Creepy Blacktells the story of an almost completely normal playthrough ofPokemon Red & Blue. The catch is that the protagonist has an extra, un-removablePokemonin their party named “Ghost.” Ghost has the same sprite as Pokemon in Pokemon Tower before they’re unveiled with the Silph Scope and can use a move called “curse,” which can defeat any Pokemon in one hit. What’s so dark about this extra creature is that when this move is used, it kills the opponent’s Pokemon. After the protagonist has killed all the opponent’s critters, they can kill the enemy trainer themselves, leaving a tombstone where they once stood.

Developed by Ax461,Pokemon Creepy Blackis a much longer game than most games based on Pokemon creeypastas. The player can play through the entirety of the first generation game with Ghost, killing off their opponents and theirPokemonuntil theybeat the Elite Four. After that? Well, the player is in for a surprise, as they’re met with the consequences of their genocidal actions.

Developed by Creepy,Pokemon Lost Silverfollows a nameless character as he navigates the dark, haunting Bellsprout Tower. Instead of the area playing as it normally does inPokemon Silver & Gold, the protagonist is left to aimlessly wander the dark hallways of the tower. Pokemon in the protagonist’s party will spell out different chilling messages as he progresses, such as “LEAVE HURRY,” and “DYING,” losing hope for their escape as it becomes futile.

1Hypno’s Lullaby

“Hypno’s Lullaby,” originally, was a haunting song based on thevarious PokeDex entriesfor Hypno. Many of them state that Hypno uses its pendulum to hypnotize and manipulate people, most often children.Pokemon X’sentry for Hypno even states that there “once was an incident in which it [Hypno] took away a child it hypnotized.”

This entry likely references a side quest inPokemon LeafGreen & FireRed,where the player must find a lost girl in the forest who was implied to have been lured away by Hypno. The game based onHypno’s Lullabyfollows that exact event but puts a much darker, sinister twist on what becomes of the unfortunate protagonist who enters the forest and tries to rescue the lost little girl from Hypno.
