Summary

The Elder Scrollshas introduced players to many powerful artifacts, andThe Elder Scrolls 6can make way for one particularly notable treasure to make a splash. While more goes into a character build than what rare items they can find, artifacts are almost always game-changers, and that is likely to continue inThe Elder Scrolls 6. Of course, not every precious treasure that has been unearthed in the series' history will be able to fit into a single game. However, it would be hard to deny a spot to some of the series' more notable pieces.

In terms of loot in the series,The Elder Scrolls' Daedric Artifactsare typically among the top-tier gear that players can find. Not only do they frequently have good stats by default, but they often feature enchantments that are either remarkably powerful, or unique to the artifact itself. For example, Azura’s Star is a black soul gem that can be refilled repeatedly, and the Skeleton Key is an unbreakable lockpick. Finding one is a great accomplishment for a player, and almost every character can benefit from at least one Daedric Artifact. In addition, the lore behind them makes them one of the most intriguing aspects ofThe Elder Scrolls.

Spellbreaker Would Be an Excellent Addition to The Elder Scrolls 6

Fittingly for one of themore useful Daedric Artifacts inSkyrim, Spellbreaker would be an excellent artifact to bring intoThe Elder Scrolls 6. Appearing in several games throughout the series, Spellbreaker is a heavy shield gifted with anti-magic properties. InSkyrimit creates a ward that grants the user resistance to damaging spells, but through the series it has featured effects ranging from silencing enemy spellcasters to reflecting spells back at casters. While already a solid shield, its spell-disrupting abilities give it its true niche, granting Heavy Armor players a powerful tool to fight back against enemy mages.

Spellbreaker is a remarkably powerful item in every incarnation, even thoughSkyrim’s magic could have been better. Mages can be troublesome opponents for warriors due to their ability to deal damage from afar, especially with their higher-level spells. While not a perfect solution, Spellbreaker gives the wielder a significant advantage over magic-users. Nullifying an enemy’s spells, or even better, making them hit themselves with them, are both powerful and satisfying maneuvers to pull off in battle. The developers ofThe Elder Scrollsgames seem to agree, as Spellbreaker keeps getting remade with new powers, making it likely to return for the next game as well.

Another good reason to bring back Spellbreaker is to bring attention to an underappreciated Daedra. Among theDaedra ofThe Elder Scrolls, Peryite is one of the less focused-on ones. There is little concrete lore about him aside from the fact that he frequently takes the shape of a dragon and is a lord of pestilence and disease. WhileSkyrim’s abundance of dragons would have made it a great game for Peryite to appear inThe Elder Scrolls 6could play host to him instead. Spellbreaker could be a great reason to make Peryite a more important figure in the next game.

Spellbreaker is an impressive artifact that is worth a spot inThe Elder Scrolls 6. Considering the remarkable success ofSkyrim,The Elder Scrolls 6has a high barto reach to live up to the hype. One thing that will be necessary is some quality Daedric Artifacts, and Spellbreaker’s recurring status makes it an excellent candidate to return even without its excellent effects. In addition, it could be a chance for Peryite to finally get some long-needed time in the spotlight.
