Once Humanfeatures its fair share ofdangerous enemies that players can encounterduring their survival adventures. From Smiling Suitcase Deviants to Spiders, there are plenty of horrifying creatures out to get players as they venture into the world to collect supplies or complete side tasks. However, some of the most terrifying enemies are the Rift Entity bosses that players will have to face, one of which will be encountered fairly early in the game.
The Ravenous Hunter is a level 10 Rift Entity that players will face in theMonolith of Greedwithin the Dayton Wetlands region. Beating this boss is necessary to unlock the Broken Delta region, though doing so can be quite the challenge. Here ishow players can beat the Ravenous Hunter inOnce Human.

Ravenous HunterPhase 1 Walkthrough
During the first phase of the boss fight, players will square off against the Ravenous Hunter in a one-on-one fight, with the Ravenous Hunter making use of its trusty Minigun. Upon entering the arena, it’s worth noting that the Ravenous Hunter will often take the time to roar at the player, granting them agreat opportunity to dish out some initial damage. During this time, aim directly for the boss’s headto dish out some consistent critical hits before ducking behind the nearest bit of cover once the boss brings up its Minigun.
Once the Ravenous Hunter begins its attack, it will default tofiring its weapon until it overheats, so be sure to remain behind cover until that happens. Players can evensummon their trusty Butterfly Deviantwhilst waiting for the boss to stop firing, allowing them to chip away at its health when they are unable to engage it directly.

Once the Ravenous Hunter’s Minigun overheats, players can then engage the boss directly. This is wheretargeting the boss’s weak spotsbecomes crucial. The first weak spot is the head, which will provide consistent critical damage when fired at. The second, less obvious weak point isthe right arm where the Minigun is attached. Dealing consistent damage to this spot willsever the arm completely, stunning the Ravenous Hunter for a short period and leaving its Minigun on the ground for players to wield.
Eliminate The Spawners In The Boss Arena
Once one-third of the boss’s health has been reduced, the boss will become immune to all damage andteleport to an inaccessible portion of the arena. During this time, players will need todestroy two Spawnersthat appear on the east and west sides of the boss arena, each of which will spawn Gnawers. This may seem relatively straightforward, but be sure to make use of the cover provided, as the Ravenous Hunter will fire rockets toward the player during this stage, which can become a serious problem if they are out in the open. Once both Spawners have been destroyed, the Ravenous Hunter will reappear in the arena to trigger the second phase.
Ravenous Hunter Phase 2 Walkthrough
Once the Ravenous Hunter reappears in the arena, players will have abrief window to dish out some free damagewithout being attacked. This is a perfect time to either focus fire on the boss’s weak spots orgrab one of the Explosive Barrelsfrom either side of the arena to throw at it.
The rest of the second phase is pretty much a carbon copy of the first, with the Ravenous Hunter primarily focusing on attacking the player at range with its Minigun. Much like before, to avoid taking damage, players can opt to duck behind cover andwait for the Ravenous Hunter’s Minigun to overheat before returning fire. Players can also opt to target the Ravenous Hunter’s right arm for a second time to sever it, thus granting them access to its Minigun.

Again, much like the previous phase, the Ravenous Hunter will become immune to all damage once it loses two-thirds of its overall health, teleporting out of the playable area and periodically firing rockets at the player. During this time, players will once again need totake out the two Spawnersthat will spawn in the same locations they did for the first phase. After they’re taken care of, the Ravenous Hunter will appear back in the arena once again.
For players who find themselves taking damage, be sure to have a few Activators on hand and use them behind cover to heal.

Ravenous Hunter Phase 3 Walkthrough
Once the third phase begins, the Ravenous Hunter will no longer be wielding its trusty Minigun — instead, it willretain theRocket Launcherthat it uses at the ends of the first two phases. This is where its attack pattern will start to have some notable differences. These attacks are as follows:
Missile Cluster - Utilize Cover Or Run Perpendicular To The Attack
During this attack, the Ravenous Hunter willpoint its Rocket Launcher in the air, charging it up andfiring a cluster of rocketsthat will home toward the player’s location. Heading behind cover is the best course of action to avoid getting damaged by this attack. However, if players find themselves out in the open, running to the left or right and performing a roll can be an effective way to dodge it.
Artillery Strike - Avoid Cover And Keep Moving
This attack animation looks quite similar to the previous one, making it hard to anticipate. The Ravenous Hunter willpoint its Rocket Launcherin the air much like before, only this time unleashing rockets that function more like artillery fire. This attack usually occurs when players remain behind cover, andthe area that the artillery is being fired toward will light up red. The best course of action to avoid taking damage from this attack is to sprint away from the area during the attack’s charge-up time, as rockets will quickly begin to rain down in that location.
Since the attack is aerial, staying behind cover during its wind-up time will do little to shield players from damage.

Acid Attack - Avoid Pools Of Damage On The Ground
During this attack, the Ravenous Hunter will fire up tofive acid blobs that leave a lasting area of effect. Players should take note of these areas that are affected by this attack and avoid them at all costs, as stepping over them can deal some serious damage.
Homing Missile - Take Cover
This attack is quite similar to the Missile Cluster attack. This time, the Ravenous Hunter willfire a single homing rocket, often by pointing the Rocket Launcher directly at the player. As before, heading behind cover or rolling out of the way can be effective methods for avoiding this attack entirely.
After each attack, players will often be given a small window of opportunity to dish out some consistent damage. If players manage to sever the Ravenous Hunter’s arms during the previous two phases, they can also grab the boss’s Minigun for some extra firepower, though it will slow them down considerably while being used.Depleting the Ravenous Hunter’s last third of health will defeat it entirely, allowing players to claim their rewards.

Ravenous Hunter Boss Fight Rewards
Defeating the Ravenous Hunter brings some rather lucrative rewards, with the first being theFestering GelDeviation. This nifty critter is aCombat Deviation that provides a healing area of effect when summoned, thus making it a rather useful addition to the player’sroster of Deviations for the early game. Players can also secure a few more rewards from the Ravenous Hunter’s remains, though they can often differ depending on how many times the player has defeated the boss. These include the following:
