Fans who skipped theaters will be able to catch Daniel Craig’s last outing as James Bond inNo Time to Die, as the film will already be available to rent in the U.S. through digital platforms on Tuesday, November 9th.
No Time to Dietakes place a few years after the events ofSpectre(2015) and follows the globe-trotting James Bond on his next mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist and save the world from a mysterious villain who’s armed with advanced technology. Originally slated to release in theaters in November 2019, the film was pushed back to April 2020 due to director Danny Boyle’s departure.

After director Cary Joji Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation,True Detective) hopped on board to helm the blockbuster, the film was then delayed again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the very demanding and challenging production, the film was finally released in theatres this year on October 8th, ultimately grossing more than $610,000,000 worldwide. Now,MGM’sNo Time to Diewill be available on all major platforms such as Apple, Amazon, Spectrum, Xfinity, DirecTV, and Vudu following the film’s 31-day exclusive theatrical window. The PVOD rental will cost $19.99. Deadline confirmed the news ofNo Time to Die’s pending U.S. digital rental release date.
Fukunaga’s film opened to rave reviews, with critics praising the emotional send-off for Craig’s Bond era. The Craig Bond films have been some of the most successful in the entire franchise, with other additions likeCasino Royale(2006),Quantum of Solace(2008), andSkyfall(2012) offering a grittier, more grounded take on Ian Fleming’s iconic character. The question that immediately emerged after it was confirmed Craig wouldn’t be returning to play the role again was who will bethe next one to play James Bond.
Many fans have speculated that veteran actors like Tom Hardy or Idris Elba could potentially take on the role, with others hoping that the ongoing franchise goes in a fresh direction by choosing someone younger. Either way, fans will have to wait and see because long-time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has already confirmed in a recent interview thatcasting for the next James Bond filmwill not begin for quite a while.
Fukunaga also co-wrote the script with Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
