Last year,Pokemon GOcompletely revamped its annual Pokemon GO Fest formula as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, shifting from massive in-person events held in select cities around the world to a global all-virtual format. Now, Pokemon GO Fest 2021 will continue a virtual format along withsmaller-scale in-person eventsin some cities that won’t have any effect on gameplay.

Each year,Pokemon GOplayers look forward to seeing which new Pokemon, Shiny forms, and other features are unveiled as part of the annual Pokemon GO Fest celebrations. This year’s event will carry a music festival theme and will feature thePokemon GOdebut of the Mythical Melody Pokemon Meloetta. Now, even more Pokemon GO Fest 2021 details have been revealed, as well as teases for this year’s Ultra Unlock bonuses.

In addition to the return of rotating Pokemon habitat hours including Jungle, Desert, Mountain, Ocean Beach, and Cave habitats, the Global Challenge Arena will make a return as well, allowing Pokemon GO Fest ticket holders the chance to complete challenges to unlock special bonuses for the weeks following the event. 8 completed global challenges will unlock Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time, while 16 completed will unlock Part 2: Space, and 24 challenges completed will unlock Part 3: ???.

Players have theorized that these bonuses will likely center around the Legendary Pokemon Dialga, and Palkia, which are known to rule over Time and Space in thePokemonuniverse.Pokemon GOhas revealed that Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time will feature Pokemon from various eras appearing more often from July 23 to August 3, while Part 2: Space will feature Pokemon from various places, likely shaking upregion-exclusive Pokemonaround the world from August 6 to August 17, and nothing has been revealed just yet about Ultra Unlock Part 3: ???, which will take place from August 20 to August 31.

Starting on July 16, allPokemon GOplayers will be able to make up to 6 Special Trades per day throughout the weekend. All players will also encounter Pikachu, Galarian Ponyta, and Galarian Zigzagoon wearing Meloetta-themed hats, as well asnew Pokemon in Raidsand the chance to evolve Kirlia into a Gardevoir with Synchronoise and Vibrava into a Flygon with the move Earth Power.

Pokemon GO Fest 2021ticket holders will encounter either Pikachu Pop Star and Pikachu Rock Star in Special Research. Research will also determine whether players encounter Flygon or Gardevoir wearing Meloetta-themed hats. Special music-themed avatar items will also be released in the in-game shop, including a special Meloetta Shirt avatar item for ticket holders.
