The tabletop RPGDungeons and Dragonshas grown considerably over the years and has expanded into other mediums, like the MMORPGNeverwinter. Recently, Wizards of the Coast held aDungeons and DragonsDirectsimilar to a Nintendo Direct that revealed plenty of newDnDcontent and a new addition toNeverwinter.
Among the list of new things that were revealed in theDungeons and DragonsDirect was thatNeverwinteris receiving its 23rd module calledNeverwinter: Dragonslayer. The new update will launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms this June. This update is largely inspired byFizban’s Treasury of Dragons, the comprehensive guide to the dragons in the world ofDungeons and Dragons.

Dungeons and Dragonsis no stranger to featuring dragons as antagonistic creatures in the series, and this new update will be directly tackling them. As the name suggests, the module will have players be able to become dragonslayers inNeverwinterwhere they hunt down and face chromatic dragons.TheNeverwinter:Dragonslayerupdatewill include plenty of new content that players inNeverwinterwill be able to enjoy when it launches in June.
Regarding the story,Neverwinter’sDragonslayerwill follow the events oftheDragonbone Valeupdate. Valindra Shadowmantle was driven out of the Sword Coast, however, she cast a flawed version of Scaleblight Mythal that awakened many dragons to the phenomenon called dragonsight, which has twisted their motives and driven them into a wild rage. Now, heroes can aid the dragonslayers to save Sword Coast from the deadly dragons.
Neverwinter’snew update will include a new Dragon Hunt system where players can join with Smeriduk Dragonbane’s dragonslayers to face the dragons in their lairs. The Dragon Hunt system will have the option to battle various chromatic dragons of various types and ages, such as Young, Adult, and Ancient. Each type of dragon will come with its own set of challenges to face, there will be dragon lairs that can be explored, and there will be rewards players can acquire.
TheDragonslayermodule will also include a complete revamp of the dragons inNeverwinterto make them look even more epic than they already did before. The revamp will give the dragons new deadly attacks, including spells and even the ability to take to the skies and fly. The new module will also come with a major content update to the fan-favoriteDungeons and Dragons"Temple of Tiamat" Trial, which has players face off againstthe 5-headed draconic goddess, Tiamatherself. The new update will come with new mechanics along with Normal and Master difficulty options.
