The vast majority of the characters inNarutoare ninjas, and for the most part, they are all talented individuals who belong to a reputable clan. The Uchiha clan is one of the oldest and strongest clans in the series, and they specialize in Fire Release, but the Sharingan is what makes them truly formidable. Shisui was an exceptionally skilled member of the clan, but a lot of fans do not know much about him.

Shisui may have not had much screen time, but he had a significant impact on the story. He tried to stop the Uchiha from staging a coup in the Hidden Leaf Village, but he was betrayed and lost an eye.Before he died, Shisui entrusted his remaining eye to Itachi, another Uchiha who wanted to follow in his footsteps.
8How He Awakened His Mangekyo Sharingan
The Sharingan is now one of the ninja world’srarest kekkei genkai, and it is extremely useful. The base Sharingan allows the user to read their enemy’s movements. The Mangekyō Sharingan is an advanced Sharingan, and it can only be awakened if the user witnesses a traumatic loss.
In Shisui’s case, the loss occurred shortly after the 3rd Great Ninja War. He and his best friend were on the same genin team, and they managed to survive the war together. When the war ended, the team was sent on a mission, and his best friend died in front of him. Shisui would never forget this moment, as he blamed himself for his friend’s death.
7He Is One Of The Only Ninja To Recieve A Flee On Sight Order
The Ninja world isfilled with strong fighters, but only a handful of them have ever received a flee on sight order. Villages would issue this order to save their own ninja from certain death, and other than the 4th Hokage, Shisui is the only known ninja who instilled this much international fear.

The Body Flicker Technique allows someone to move specific distances while using extreme speed, and it usually requires a puff of smoke to help hide the user’s movements. Shisui mastered this technique to the point that even sensory ninja could not detect his movements, and he moved so quickly that he was able to create after images that could deliver physical attacks.
6He Is The Descendant Of Kagami Uchiha
Many fans like to make fun of the 2nd Hokage’s apparent hatred of the Uchiha clan, but if he really hated them, he would have never had Kagami Uchiha by his side during the First Great Ninja War. Kagami was friends withDanzo and the 3rd Hokage, and he actually saved Danzo a number of times.
He was a talented ninja, but he died when he was just 25 years old. Luckily, he had fathered at least one child. This is significant because Shisui is his direct descendant. The two bear striking resemblances, and Shisui inherited Kagami’s Will of Fire.
5He Was A Pacifist
Ninjas are expected to kill other ninjas, and although Shisui has killed his fair share of enemies, he preferred to use non-lethal methods. This was shown when he decided to scare off a unit of Hidden Mist ninja with genjutsu instead of engaging them in open combat.

Like Itachi,Shisui was a pacifist, and he took it upon himself to stop the Uchiha clan’s attempted coup without spilling a drop of blood. He was devoted to his clan, but he valued the Leaf Village’s well-being above all else, which explains why he wanted to stop the senseless bloodshed.
4He May Have Been Stronger Than Itachi
Itachi is one ofNaruto’s most honorable characters, but he also happens to be one of the strongest. He became an Anbu when he was just 11 years old, and he was able to defeat the 4th Mizukage in his Tailed Beast form when he was in his early teens.
Even by Uchiha standards, Itachi was a prodigy of the Sharingan. He met Shisui when he was 5 years old, and they quickly developed a brother-like bond. The two sparred numerous times, and Shisui got the better of him most of the time. Danzo admitted that Itachi was never able to fully surpass Shisui.
3His Kotoamatsukami May Be The Most Powerful Genjutsu
The Mangekyō Sharingan offers a variety of powerful abilities, but Shisui was the only Uchiha capable of using the Kotoamatsukami. This genjutsu allowed him to enter a person’s mind as long as they were in his field of vision. He would then implant false experiences into their mind to make them think that their actions were their own.
This genjutsu essentially allowed him to control people’s minds, which made him one ofthe most powerful dojutsu users inNaruto.This jutsu was strong enough to potentially effect the entire Uchiha clan.
2He Is One Of The Most Talented Uchiha Of All Time
The Uchiha clan has produced a number of Kage-level ninja, and Shisui is by far one ofthe strongest ninjas in the clan’s storied history. He was promoted to Jonin just 4 years after graduating from the academy, He was able to use Fire, Lightning, Wind, and Yin Release, and he was one of the only Uchiha capable of producing a massive fireball.

Danzo said that Shisui was the strongest Uchiha of his era, but he also credited him for being the most talented Uchiha. When Shisui died, high-ranking Uchihas were displeased because their fighting strength suffered a massive blow. Even Kabuto recognized his strength as he tried to reanimate him for the 4th Great Ninja War.
1He Unlocked The Susanoo
The Susanoo is an incredibly powerful ability that only a small number of Uchiha have obtained. It can only be achieved with a Mangekyō Sharingan. The Susanoo is a large humanoid avatar that can shield its user from most attacks, but it can unleash devastating attacks as well.
Shisui never used the Susanoo in the anime, but he did reveal the ability inNaruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4when he battled some of Danzo’s men. His Susanoo is green, and it is capable of firing a barrage of chakra needles from its chest.
