My Hero Academiachapter 402 might just have been one of the biggestin the Final War Saga of the series.This chapter tugged at the heartstrings of the fans and for all the right reasons. The final saga ofMy Hero Academiahas been a hit-and-miss for the vast majority of the fans. While there have been moments where the arcs felt incredibly intense and cataractic, at the same time, there have been moments where the story has felt extremely underwhelming.
This chapter fell in the former category as it was a phenomenally written one from start to finish with quite a lot of focus being thrown on one of the very best characters inMy Hero Academia, All Might, and, potentially, his death.
Aftermath Of The Battles
A big portion ofMy Hero Academiachapter 402 focused on the aftermath of the many battles that had been raging on. Fans have seen massive fights continue in the manga for over a year now, ranging from the clash in the Todoroki Family, to some other incredible battles such as the one fought between Toga and Ochaco, and many others. The Twice clones, at the same time, caused quite a lot of problems for everyone on the battlefield and itwas only after Ochako succeededin her goal that they finally subsided. It was quite evident that the aftermath of these fights needed to be addressed by the author.
Surprisingly, it took quite a long time for that to happen, however, now, fans know that most of the battlefield has been taken control of by the heroes, which pins all hopes on Izuku and his fight against Shigaraki. It was a breath of fresh air to see all the characters dealing with their own messes while other fights in the manga continued. Of course, that does not mean that the chapter did not focus on other major events and fights, it just means that it was a very well-written chapter that covered the entirety of the war throughout in a very careful manner.
All For One’s Plan
One of the most important things that was tackled inMy Hero Academiachapter 402 was the aftermath of the fight between All For One and All Might. Fans know these two characters engaged in a very intense fight that lasted for a couple of weeks and, now, this fight is finally wrapping up. In the previous chapter, All Might triedto launch a powerful attack at All For Onewith Stain’s help, however, it was not to be. All For One countered at the right moment and defeated both of these characters. Now, his plan is about to come to fruition and that is what he is focused on at the moment.
My Hero Academiachapter 402 reinforced the fact that All For One wants to get to Shigaraki and give him his copy of All For One, the Quirk. With that, he would strengthen him even further and then assert dominance over him. After all, to All For One, Shigaraki is just another version of him that he is going to utilize and manipulate. To see this plan through, All For One wanted to warp Shigaraki to himself and then finish this process in peace and quiet. Deku would certainly not let him have his way and, because of that, he tried to warp his target to him, only to see that he had grown strong enough to reject his warp. This meant that All For One had to find other ways to get the job done and that is precisely what he did, when he sighted All Might still looking for a fight.
Nana Shimura Flashback
My Hero Academiachapter 402 did incredibly well to tie up the fight between All For One and All Might. Had the fight ended the way it did in the previous chapter, fans would have been confused as the finale was certainly lacking the punch. Now, however, it feels much more like a proper fight. Immediately after changing his plans, All For One grabbed All Might by the leg and warped himselfclose to Deku and Shigaraki.With that, Deku immediately realized that All Might’s life was fading away. For the very first time, his vestige was dying and he could feel it inside him.
Deku, who has always been labeled to be a crybaby was, once again, about to cry right in the middle of the battle, however, one could feel his pain because, all his life, the only person he has looked up to was about to die and the person who mentoring him to live out his dream and give him a reason to continue living was about to meet his end.
Much to the surprise of both All For One and the fans, All Might still had some fight left in him. It would have been weird if he just gave out and left the series like that, however, the author certainly saw to it that All Might had his proper end. Even in his dying moments, he decided to fight back and do his very best as he grabbed All For One by his neck. At the same time, All For One experienced a flashback from the time when he fought against Nana, the 7th user of One For All, and killed her.
Nana, after passing on her Quirk to All Might and moments before dying, looked All For One dead in the eye and told him that the person who was going to defeat him ultimately would be none other than All Might. The reason for that was because she believed that Toshinori was even crazier than he could ever be and, for that reason, he would be that much more unpredictable. That is precisely what happened in this week’s chapter as, at the end of it all, All For One decided to use the incredible powers from Bakugo’s Quirk, Explosion. This explosion, however, was intended to blow himself up, along with All For One.
According to All Might, if All For One dies one more time, he would then turn into a toddler and his plan would thus be ruined completely. With that, the chapter ended on a very powerful cliffhanger with the explosion taking place and All For One being taken by surprise. Fans do not know what ended up happening after this explosion, however, given the body that All Might possesses, it is highly likely that he’s going to survive this. Furthermore, All For One will also be taking significant damage and,if he does not die with All Might, fans can expect him to see all his plans ruined as he would then turn into a toddler or a baby. He would then rewind into nothingness and die. By all means, this chapter ofMy Hero Academiawas absolutely phenomenal and fans cannot wait to see what ends up happening with the Symbol of Peace and the former Number One Hero.
