As ofMinecraft’s Tricky Trials update, the game’s latest major content drop that launched in June, players now have the ability to construct one of the most effective XP farms ever conceived. A fan known online only by the title of EpicGamer3786 recently shared their own version of the farm, which functions on the premise of spawning huge numbers of Silverfish from an Iron Golem. This is possible thanks to the new “Infested” status effect, which causes Silverfish to appear from an affected mob. A few different variations of this farm have already been posed by players, but this farm uses a total of 11 Infestation-afflicted Iron Golems to spawn hordes of Silverfish out into a pit where they can then be killed and harvested for XP.
How This Minecraft XP Farm Works
Many other players have demonstrated variants of this farm that are even more efficient, with manyMinecraftplayers using Allaysas the designated Silverfish hosts due to them having innate regenerative capabilities. These sorts of farms can also be outfitted with potion dispensers to fully automate the process, though players should be mindful that the sheer number of Silverfish that can be spawned from this method can have a severe impact on the game’s performance.
Some members of theMinecraftcommunity speculate that this exploit will be patched in a future update by Mojang, out of concern about the farm design simply being too efficient and easy to set up. The Infested effect isn’t the onlynew status effect introduced withMinecraft’s 1.21 update, with some of the other new effects offering fans new ways of farming other resources such as slime balls, too.
