Summary

A determinedMinecraftplayer has recreated a defensive structure from theAge of Empiresfranchise. The building in question came from theDefinitive Editionof the second game. It is one of many elaborateMinecraftcreations that can be found throughout the internet.

Minecraftwas originally launched in 2011 for the PC. Since then, it has been released across multiple platforms and has gone on to become the best-selling video game of all time. The game has maintained a loyal fanbase since then, and even oneMinecraftplayer has shown off animalsthat they’ve had since the game was first released. One of the game’s most iconic modes is its creative mode, which allows players to have unlimited resources and access to flight. In the nearly 12 years since the game was released, players have gone on to create some amazing structures.

Castles and fortresses are not that uncommon within the game, with one devotedMinecraftplayer even creating an entire medieval kingdom. References to theAge of the Empiregames, however, are a bit rarer. In a recent post, Reddit user Bladjomir built a Krepost fromAge of Empires 2:Definitive Edition. TheMinecraftstructure is a near-perfect recreation of the building, with the colors, towers, window positions, and entrances matching that of the original design.

The Krepost was not in the original edition of the game and was first introduced inAge of Empires 2: Definitive Editionin late 2019. This version of the game added several new campaigns and factions for players to use which included the Bulgarians. The Krepost is a defensive structure that is exclusive to this faction. It functions similarly to a castle but costs significantly less and offers a lower level of fortification and protection. In addition to its PC release,Age of Empires 2: Definitive Editionwould go on to be released for Xbox consoles.

In addition to medieval recreations, players will often build outlandish and unexpected things within the game. One devotedMinecraftplayer recreated the Titanicwhile another made a scale replica of the Starship Enterprise from theStar Trekfranchise. Another fan created the iconic RV fromBreaking Bad,while others have managed to craft characters fromStardew Valley, which goes to show how popular the game has been over the years. Players have managed to put together some impressive creations and, as long asMinecraftremains popular, will likely continue to make more in the future.
