In a recentvideo on Konami’s official YouTube channel,Metal Gearseries producer Noriaki Okamura revealed how he would feel about working onMetal Gearwith Kojima again. Expressing his personal stance, he said, “I’d like nothing better than to work with Mr Kojima and the rest of the team again.” He went on to say that the return of theDeath Strandingdirectorand formerMetal Geardevs would be “the dream.” However, he also acknowledged the “current reality” and admitted that, since the separation, the parties involved have “moved on to new things and new commitments.” Moreover, he stated that others' interest to reunite with Konami couldn’t be taken for granted and that the currentMetal Gearteam can’t be “completely dependent” on them. Claiming ownership of forthcomingMetal Geargames likeMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, he added, “It’s on our shoulders to do a good job.”
Konami Unveils New Details About Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Apart from discussing an unlikely reunion, the Production Hotline episode also shed light on a bunch of features coming inMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Creative Producer Yoji Korekado revealed that the remake is set to upgrade the original mainly in two areas: graphics and controls. While the graphics have received a complete overhaul with Unreal Engine 5, the controls have been updated to match the norm in modern-day gaming. Further, he also shared a few glimpses of therevamped Cure System in theSnake Eaterremake. In addition, four in-game color filters, which are Normal, Sepia, Retro, and Legacy, have also been confirmed. Among these options, the Legacy filter applies the color palette that was featured in the original 2004 game. These color filters work irrespective of which type of camera angle, Normal or Legacy, the player has opted for.
Even though new information about theSnake Eaterremake has been surfacing consistently over the past few weeks, there is still no word on its release date. Despite speculations of a 2024 release initially, a recent rumor has suggestedMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eatermay roll out in 2025instead. However, the latest flurry of updates may be a sign that questions around the game’s release will also be settled rather soon.
