Xbox Game Pass is the gift that keeps on giving. Sure, there are titles that leave the service every month, but it often feels like the additions far outpace the removals. Xbox Game Pass is a perfect gift this holiday season, whether shopping for Xbox One orXbox Series X gifts, and it seems BioWare fans may be getting an extra treat soon withMass Effect: Legendary Edition.
The faithful and thorough remasters first released back in May 2021, with the sales thereof far exceeding expectations.Mass Effect: Legendary Editionwas a bit hit, setting the stage for the newMass Effectgame in development at BioWare, and soon, it seems those who have avoided it will get it alongside their Xbox Game Pass subscription.

First spotted by Polish gaming site XGP (and translated by VGC),Mass Effect: Legendary Editionwas briefly marked with the now-iconic Game Pass badge in the official Xbox Store. This could have theoretically been a mistake, as stranger things have certainly happened, but this badge shortly appearing on a game would suggest the game was coming to Game Pass. If so, then it also stands to reason it would be soon—either joiningXbox Game Pass’ November selectionor perhaps sometimes in December.
In theory, it could be longer than that, but the badge’s appearance and quick removal would at least suggest it’s soon. What’s also important to note is that EA Play is bundled withXbox Game Pass Ultimate, and EA’s new releases typically join EA Play within a year or so, as pointed out by VGC. In other words, this badge is backed up by past patterns, and ifMass Effect: Legendary Editioncomes to EA Play (joining the originalMass Effectgames), then Game Pass makes perfect sense.
It all remains to be seen, of course, but fans may want to keep up with Xbox Game Pass social media channels for its addition. ManyBlack Friday salesmay even list and includeMass Effect: Legendary Edition, but almost certainly, just getting it through Game Pass is the better, most cost-efficient purchase.
Mass Effect: Legendary Editionwas one stop on theME4hype train, but there’s been more. Between a teaser trailer and a poster, BioWare is certainly taking the right steps to promote the game. However, it seems there’s some secret in the trailer that no fan has noticed, andBioWare promised to reveal thisMass Effectsecretif it wins the “Favorite Moments of 2020” Game Awards category for the initial trailer drop. Those take place on December 9, so hopefully, fans learn more next month.
Mass Effect: Legendary Editionis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
