According toDeadline,Dust Bunnywill be Fuller’s feature film directorial debut and will be produced by Entertainment One and Thunder Road, with Fuller serving as a producer alongside Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. The logline for the film involves a little girl enlisting the help of her neighbor to kill the monster under her bed, who she believes to have killed her entire family. The film as a whole was praised by Lee, who said, “We have been huge fans of Bryan’s for years.Dust Bunnyis incredibly inventive and unlike anything in the marketplace and we are thrilled to help bring his first feature to life."
Mikkelsen, who has beencompared to actors of such as Anthony Hopkins, has been praised by Kristen Fiergold, an executive working for Sierra/Affinity, which is handling global sales of the film. “Mads brings such a unique quality to every character he brings to life and his role inDust Bunnywill be no exception," Fiergold said. “We’re excited to bring a throwback to the family horror films of the ’80s, a beloved genre for many, to this year’s market at AFM.”
Though Mads' character was not officially revealed, it can be extrapolated that he will be the neighbor whom the little girl seeks out for help. At first glance, it’s far cry fromMikkelsen’s work on projects such asDeath Stranding, but it also makes sense for the actor. His intensity and magnetism would make him a natural person who the girl would turn to for help killing a monster.
Mikkelsen’s in pretty high demand lately. In addition to working onIndiana Jones 5, he’s been rumored to be on the shortlist for Doctor Doom in theFantastic Fourmovie, and evenHideo Kojima has some ideas for projects involving Mikkelsen.
