EA Sports released a much-needed new game update forMadden NFL 24in early December. The patch addressed anumber of bugs withMadden’sgameplayand some of its most-played game modes.
Madden NFL 24, which covers the current 2023-2024 season of the NFL, was released in August 2023. It is the 35th installment in the long-running football video game franchise, and as with many other EA Sports titles,Madden 24is also wracked with a lot of bugs that have frustrated many players, even if they’ve already accepted and expected this as a regular part of the experience.
The most important changes thatMadden 24’s Title Update 6 brought were fixes to the on-field gameplay, along with a variety of improvements to the game’s general stability. These improvements manage some small issues such as unfair bonuses for blockers on offense when they are facing three or fewer pass rushers, pass rushers coming through unblocked on certain plays, and too-high catch-penalties on wide receivers receiving from behind, just to name a few.
The game’s different modes — namely Franchise Mode, Superstar Mode, and Madden Ultimate Team — also received some general fixes across a variety of issues. These include crashing, disconnecting from online play, the distribution of in-game currency and EA Play Pro points, XP distribution, and more. These improvements look to grow the game’s player base, in addition toAmazon slashingMadden 24’s price to only $30.
In addition to the live updates of current players' in-game ratings, a few NFL players' likenesses were also updated, in particular former Seattle Seahawks QB Brett Rypien, Los Angeles Chargers QB Easton Stick, and Denver Broncos QB Jarrett Stidham, benefitting those hardcore fans who value accuracy and allowing them toproperly play with these young players inMaddenmodes like Franchiseor Ultimate Team. This follows real-life developments in which all three players emerged from relative obscurity to receive more playing time, especially Rypien, who has just been signed by the New York Jets in December in the team’s attempt to find a consistent starting quarterback.
Meanwhile, EA Sports continues to release steady live content for the game as the current season rolls on. The lastMadden 24in-game season update launched in mid-November, which brought back some familiar in-game events such as The Harvest and Blitz PREM1ERE, while also paying tribute to former Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick’s time as aMaddencover star from the 2004 edition.
