Quick Links
Demon Beast Canyonis the first Abyssal Dungeon thatthe massive onslaught of playerswill be attacking inLost Ark,and it’s a pretty simple introduction to the system. Players need to be Item Level 340 to enter it, at least, and the rewards from it can be crafted into the Epic-Rarity Armor and Weapons for Tier 1 gear.
Like most Abyssal Dungeons, Demon Beast Canyon is analtered version of one of the main story quest Dungeons, with more bosses, mechanics, hints at specific Lore, and a few more mob-clearing sections spread throughout. Here’s a look at what exactly this Dungeon entails, and how newerLost Arkendgame players can get through it.

Short & Sweet Quick Guide
This guide will go into depth on each section of the Abyssal Dungeon; however, some players will already understand most of this. For these players, here’s a hyper-speed guide and refresher on the important stuff to remember about this Dungeon whilegrinding out weekly Goldor potential Card Packs.
For those who feel they need a bit more of an in-depth explanation of both bosses, or are being forced to dealwith basically solo’ing the Dungeon because of bots entering, continue reading below.

First Section: Crossing The Bridge
The Abyssal Dungeon begins with players running up againstGarum, the Winged Terror. This section is pretty basic and is almost entirely identical to the story quest version. Just follow the bridge and take out the corrupted corpses climbing up from the sides.
The mob-clearing sections of Abyssal Dungeons are nice little palette cleansers, but when players are trying to rush through their weeklies, they’re not exactly something to love about the game. Once players get into the open courtyard near the bottom of the map, the fight against Corrupted Vazuela begins.

Second Section: Corrupted Vazuela
This large blob of blood and meat isCorrupted Vazuela, the first “boss” players will encounter in an Abyssal Dungeon. As far as mechanics go, Corrupted Vazuela is about as basic as it gets. Dodge the red, avoid anything on the ground that looks like an environmental hazard, and tentatively save Counter skills for when the boss glows Blue. The only real “mechanic” the Vazuela uses is spawning a moderately damaging pool of Blood under the player with thecrosshair icon over their head.Whichever party member gets this icon should run away from the fight until the pool of blood appears to keep it from damaging any allies, then they can go back to fighting the boss.
If anyone hasn’t by now, make sure to turn off all Friendly Particle Effects in Display settings, except for Buffing effects of course. Not doing this makes Abyssal Dungeons twice as difficult, as it is much harder to see the enemy telegraphsthrough the myriad of other UI elements already in the way.

Description
Swipe
Standard swiping attack that almost every boss inLost Arkhas, minimal damage and mostly just meant to interrupt a player’s combo.
Rolling Charge
Counter-able. Corrupted Vazuela starts building up a Sonic the Hedgehog-like spin-dash before rolling forward and knocking players back.
Jump Slam
Vazuela’s highest damaging move. The boss jumps up and off-screen before putting a red telegraph down on top of a player and landing on it. Then, a second shockwave comes out from the slam in a larger ring around the first impact.Players can dodge the first slam, then get close to the boss to dodge the secondary shockwave.
Blood Explosion
This attack has the longest windup. Corrupted Vazuelaputs a gigantic red telegraph on the groundand charges up energy while the telegraph slowly fills. Once filled, Vazuela releases an explosive shockwave of blood around it, dealing high damage and knocking players back.
Third Section: Defeat The Necromancers & Enemies Blocking The Path
The longest section of this Dungeon involves following the quest markers, clearing out all Necromancers and Corpses in three different areas before lining up to load into the Vile Scarkrill fight.
AoE Skills work best to get through this section quickly. Players can dive headfirst into the Necromancer’s ritual circle and use their AoEs to take out both the Necromancers and the Corpses spawning from these circles.

Final Section: Vile Scarkrill
Like Corrupted Vazuela,Vile Scarkrillis pretty basic (especiallycompared to other Raidsor even the recentlyintroduced Argos Abyssal Raid). It shouldn’t take more than two to three minutesfor players to combateven at the lowest recommended Item Level. It’s certainly more agile than Corrupted Vazuela and is more annoying to chase down, but the most annoying thing about this boss what happens ifone specific ally chooses not to skip the ending cutsceneafter defeating it.
Instead of circular AoEs, Scarkrill has a lot of conical telegraphs that are pretty simple to dodge. It also has one main mechanic: Stealth Mode, which most parties either never get to see or ignore entirely.

Stealth Mode
About two minutes after the fight begins, Scarkrill entersStealth Mode.In Stealth Mode, it takes reduced damage and limits its move-set to a basic teleport and spin attack. Meanwhile, one red orb spawns at each cardinal direction of the arena.
The intention here is to have players stand next to these orbs. Scarkrill will teleport to them and use its spin attack, whereby it will destroy the orbs. For every orb destroyed, Scarkrill is briefly staggered.Do this with each of the four orbs, and Vile Scarkrill should return to normal.
If players find themselves taking a lot of damage during this phase, note that once Scarkrill teleports, he’ll always do the spin attack. Players can dash away after the teleport to avoid taking damage, while also breaking the orbs.
Regular Attacks
Because this is the first Abyssal Dungeon, most players will defeat Scarkrill before they see a lot of its moves. But just in case, here’s what to look out for.
Orb Shotgun
Vile Scarkrill summons five red orbs directly in front of it before shooting them out in a shotgun spread-like pattern. It does low damage and causes a bit of stagger.
Teleport & Spin
This combo is seen the most. Scarkrill teleports, quickly swipes in front of itself, then does a 360 spin attack.
Hook & Chain
Scarkrill throws out a hook on a chain directly at a player, which causes knockback and a bit of damage. It’s easy to dodge up close, but harder to avoid far away.
Frontal Shockwave
Vile Scarkrill puts a large conical telegraph on the ground that slowly fills. Once filled, the boss unleashes a large red shockwave that deals medium damage and knocks back. It’s easy to avoid, andplayers can inflict a lot of DPS during the attack.
Red Energy Cones
Scarkrill starts sucking in red energy on either side of it, dealing low DPS to anyone standing inside the attack. It’sa great attack to avoid and inflict a lot of DPS.
Landmines
The boss summons red circles on the ground randomly that explode when their telegraph is filled. Deals moderate damage.
Recommended Consumables & Engravings
For almost every other Abyssal Dungeon inLost Ark, players shouldbring a couple of differentBattle Items(like Whirlwind Grenades or Time Stop Potions) and use particularEngravings(such as Grudge or Cursed Doll). But because Ancient Elveria is basically the Abyssal Dungeon tutorial, neither of these are really recommended. Players should just bring:
