Summary
Epic Games releases update 29.10 forLEGO Fortnite, bringing new vehicle builds, custom designs, new crafting tools, as well as bug fixes as well. The Mechanical Mayhem update follows suit with anotherrecentLEGO Fortnitepatch earlier in Marchwhich added Kit Bundles to the experience. Using prebuilt designs, players could essentially purchase new building designs like Beachside Boulevard or Durrr Burger to spruce up their map.
However, following the release, fans became dissatisfied with the pricing structure in theLEGO Fortniteshop. These LEGO kits range between 1,900 and 2,500 V-Bucks, or $16-21 USD, leaving fans frustrated at the costs being, in some cases, more than the price of two battle passes. Either way, even though the builds are entirely optional and don’t offer any benefits, players are still hoping to see future builds come with lower costs. For now, Epic Games has released its latest update, adding a highly requested feature for free.

A newblog post from Epic Gamesreveals that Vehicle Builds are now live withinLEGO Fortnite. Three vehicle builds have been added to the game, including the Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler. The vehicle recipes can be unlocked by adding a Power Cell, Flexwood, or Frostpine to the player’s inventory. Once the recipe is unlocked, players can further tweak the build from the Vehicle Parts area in the Toys section of the Build Menu. New tools like the Power Center, Wheels, and Seats are available to add to really put a unique spin on whatever vehicle the player is creating. SinceLEGO Fortniteis a popular co-op experience, players can add multiples of these items, like seats, to allow their friends to tag along.
In addition to creating custom vehicles, this latestFortniteupdate also adds a number of tools players will need to work with in order to keep their vehicles running. The Compost Bin allows players to essentially recycle old or unwanted items, converting them into resources like Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil. Using a Wrench lets players assign Switches and Thrusters to channels, enabling them to be controlled through separate switches instead of all being on one. The Illuminator, which can be unlocked through aLEGO FortniteCrafting Benchby adding a Thermal Fish to the inventory, adds new light sources to the world.
For many players, one of the bigger aspects ofLEGO Fortniteis the ability to take a traditional skin and essentially make it a LEGO-fied version. With Update 29.10, Epic Games has added a ton of new LEGO Styles for Fortnite players to check out including the likes of Koi Brawler Zero, Championship Jonesy, and many more. However, the latestLEGO Fortniteupdate key art may have also spoiled an upcoming addition, as Marvel’s Drax the Destroyer made a surprising appearance, indicating that a skin for the Guardians of the Galaxy member could be on the way.
