For a long time,One Piecefans have been mystified by the various secrets in the series. DespiteOne Pieceentering its final saga, there are still many mysteries that are yet to be resolved. One of the most perplexing things about the series is the Ancient Kingdom, which existed before the Void Century.
There is no record of the kingdom’s evidence except for the Poneglyphs, and they are impossible for most people to read. InOne Piecechapter 1065, Shaka could be seen talking to Sanji’s group about a kingdom that existed in the past, which is the same kingdom place that Clover mentioned in his conversation with the Five Elders. This conversation caused the entireOne Piececommunity to go into meltdown as they think Oda is finally about to make some major revelations.

The Ancient Kingdom
From the conversation between Shaka and Franky, it became evident that the civilization they were talking about existed 900 years ago. This means that it existed before the Void Century, which is one of the most well-protectedsecrets of the World Government. After the Void Century, this ancient kingdom disappeared, and it was all because of the World Government. According to Shaka, the ancient kingdom was way more technologically advanced than the other kingdoms, which is why they felt threatened by its powers.
So, the twenty founding kingdoms of the World Government banded together and destroyed this ancient kingdom and erased every trace of its existence. The people of this civilization wrote down the truth about the events on the Poneglyphs to inform future generations of the tragedy that befell them. Since the Poneglyphs are indestructible, the World Government could not do anything to get rid of them.

So, they decided to ban the reading of the Poneglyphs, and anyone found breaking this rule was harshly dealt with. When the scholars of Ohara found out about the Void Century and the existence of the “Great Kingdom,” they were shocked. Sadly, the World Government was already on their tail, and they initiated a Buster Call that resulted in the death of allthe people of Oharaexcluding Nico Robin, whom they continued to hound for several years. Clearly, the World Government considers the idea of the kingdom’s existence to be a threat to their existence, which implies the ancient kingdom was incredibly powerful.
What Was The Ancient Kingdom Like?
In chapter 1065, Shaka confirmed that the ancient kingdom was scientifically ahead of its time. The new chapter also had a panel that had a giant, rusty robot, and it is very likely that it was created by the people of the ancient kingdom. Considering that they were so superior to the other kingdoms, it seems plausible to assume they were also behind thecreation of the Ancient Weapons. It has already been confirmed several times that the Pluton is a warship that can destroy entire islands with ease. The blueprints for Pluton were in Franky’s possession, but he destroyed them to prevent the World Government from stealing them. In the Wano Country arc, Kozuki Sukiyaki told Robin that Pluton was in Wano.

Poseidon is a living being, so it is unlikely that they were behind its creation. Thisleaves Uranus as the other possible weaponthat was built by the people of the ancient kingdom. When Imu destroyed the Lulusia Kingdom, many theories emerged that suggested that they used Uranus' power to achieve such a feat. Oda hasn’t followed up on the incident, so the information pertaining to whether the World Government has Uranus or not will take some time. If the ancient kingdom created two of the three ancient weapons, then how was the World Government able to defeat them?
Defeat and Downfall
While the ancient kingdom did have advanced technology at its disposal, it would have been seriously outnumbered by the twenty allied kingdoms. Also, it is not uncommon for someone to jump ship when they think their side is losing, or a person just didn’t like the people of their own race. So, there is every chance that someone could have undermined the defenses of the ancient kingdom which allowed the allied forces to emerge victorious. It is possible that the person who betrayed the people of the ancient kingdom was Imu. The betrayal destroyed his people, and he became the ruler of the world.
There are some fans who think thatthe World Government itselfis the ancient kingdom, and they believe that they won the battle. Needless to say, this claim is filled with holes, although it offers an interesting perspective. With things heating up in the series, it might not be long before the Straw Hat Pirates find out more about the ancient kingdom. The upcomingOne Piecechapters will definitely offer more insight into the pertinent topic, so the fans will have to be patient for the release of the next chapters.
