That replica is none other than Ellie’s new guitar, which is a significant new aspect ofThe Last of Us 2that leads to some of the sequel’s quietest and most intimate moments. Sadly, however, guitar players who want to channel Ellie’s music through their own replica of her soon to be iconic instrument will have to fork out a pretty penny to get it. The guitar is currently selling for a whopping $2,299 and will be shipping exclusively to the US, Canada, and Mexico. The model itself is known as a Taylor 314ce, with the PlayStation Gear website (where fans can go to purchase the collectible) claiming that the custom design has a “distinctive rich tobacco sunburst top and a custom moth fretboard inlay in grained ivoroid.”
According to the site, theguitaris also “built with solid sapele back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, this model produces a balanced voice across the tonal spectrum with a rich midrange and clear treble notes.” Supposedly, its shape offers a “comfortable playing experience and a versatile sound, while a slender, easy-playing neck accommodates players of all styles and skill levels.”
