Summary
Yuta Okkotsu Is one of the most loved characters inJJKand one that is currently enjoying the spotlight in the Culling Game arc. Yuta has been seen battling against Sukuna alongside the current main character of the story, Yuji Itadori. Of course, this battle has been incredible for the fans to witness as it has showcased Yuta at the peak of his abilities, throwing everything that he has Sukuna’s way.
Yuta has also risen quite a lot in terms of power in this amazing battle, and that has excited the fans, evidently. However, fans knew from the get-go that Yuta would not be the one to finish the battle as that is a role that is likely going to be reserved for the likes of Yuji. Yuta would have to fall in this battle and it appears that he already has. In fact, there’s a big possibility that Yuta might even be dead, which is something that scares the fans at the moment.
Yuta Vs Sukuna
Yuta joined the fight against Sukuna immediately after he dealt with Kenjaku. After Takaba kept Kenjaku busy, Yuta snuck up on him and decapitated him. Essentially, he was able to kill him without even fighting him properly, and while that was underwhelming in many ways, at the end of the day, the job was done. Yuta then proceeded to stab Kenjaku right through the head, and had Rika deal with cursed spirits that were leaving Geto’s body.
Immediately after he was done with Kenjaku, he turned his eyes towards the battlefield where Sukuna was fighting. He joined the battle as soon as he could and once that happened, fans got the witness an incredible clash between two powerful sorcerers. Yuta certainly traded blows with Sukuna, with Rika at his side, and he made it his mission to defeat him as soon as possible, especially since he believed that it was his fault that many of his comrades ended up dying in the battle. Blaming himself for everything, Yuta unleashed his fury on Sukuna and certainly made a massive difference.
Yuta’s Usage Of Authentic Mutual Love
Yuta utilized the power of the domain expansion in the battleagainst Sukuna and he was certainly able to surprise the readers. Immediately after he opened his domain, fans could see its incredible power. Essentially, Yuta could utilize any copied ability that he had inside his domain expansion, and not in a restricted manner.
Simply put, there are absolutely no limits to copy inside his domain. Yuta can also give one of his copied techniques a sure-hit effect, meaning this attack would land no matter what. All the other techniques that Yuta has copied can be utilized by him indefinitely, after he picks up a sword carrying the particular cursed technique.
However, Yuta does not know what sword carries which cursed technique. It is only after he picks up the sword that he realizes what technique it holds, and from there onwards, Yuta can utilize it and then pick up another katana with a different cursed technique, or the same one. He utilized some incredible abilities in the battle against Sukuna, and one of them was even Sukuna’s very own, which sliced and diced him across his arms and face, injuring him greatly.
Sukuna Cuts Yuta
As fans know already, Yuta’s plan was to injure Sukuna to a point where Yuji would find it easy to weaken his control over Megumi’s body. Then, Yuta was to hit him with the power of Jacob’s Ladder and while that did happen in this chapter, it didn’t go exactly as planned. As soon as Sukuna stopped using Hollow Wicker BASKET, Yuta hit him with the power of Jacob’s ladder and started the process of purification. While it certainly did hurt Sukuna quite a lot, giving Yuji the opportunity to talk with Megumi, things did not work out as Megumi had lost the will to live already. As such, he could not fight back against Sukuna and this gave the king of curses the opportunity to counterattack. He did so in quite some style. Using powerful chants, Sukuna amped up the power of his curse technique to the very maximum, and then, he unleashed his strongest ability on Yuta, called the World Cutting Slash.
Fans know that this isthe same technique that Sukuna used to kill Gojo.At the same time, he also used it in the battle against Kashimo, and it proved to be effective there as well. Now, this technique was launched by him at Yuta, who got struck by it directly and, thus, was injured greatly, with blood flowing everywhere.
Is Yuta Dead?
Right now, every fan only hasone question on their mind and that is whether Yuta is dead or alive. The answer to this question is not straightforward. For one, fans know that Yuta took a very deadly hit. He got hit by the world cutting slash which killed even Gojo. It is quite easy for the fans to see that this is not an easy technique to counter and Yuta failed at that too. He got cut right across his arm, and his chest and, it appeared that the attack actually cut his back too, meaning it was a very deep slice. That in itself means that Yuta has taken deadly damage that he likely cannot recover from, at least not easily. At the very least, Yuta should be permanently incapacitated in battle now.
This is especially true because the hand on which he puts his ring is not with him anymore, which means Yuta cannot utilize his cursed technique or summon Rika. The question is as to whether Yuta is dead or not. The likely answer to this is that he is still alive as, if he were to die like this, it would have been a very underwhelming end to his character. Fans can rest assured that Yuta is still alive, however, injured significantly. It is possible that he will be teleported to Shoko very soon, who could end up healing him, but since Yuji has also been damaged, that is unlikely as he has to fight more, undoubtedly. It has already been implied that Shoko is trying her best to save as many lives as possible, including that of Gojo too, possibly. Perhaps, Yuta is just going to be another one of those who she has to save. Perhaps,Rika has an ability to help Yuta surviveand that could end up being something interesting and would help him continue the battle against Sukuna.
It is also possible for Yuta to try and heal from this injury, however, given the intensity of the attack that cut him, it is highly unlikely for him to be able to do so. Nonetheless, it is something worth trying and, hopefully, both Yuta and Yuji can recover so that they can continue fighting in the battle against Sukuna and keep surprising him with one technique after another, only this time, with Maki by their side.
