Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehas kept up the pace with its frequent updates promised at the end of last year. The game has constantly undergone changes to its playlists selection as well as to much of the in game content found within the multiplayer landscape. Now,update 1.13 released todayand added plenty of new additions to the game like an increased amount of loadout slots and the much more.

Infinity Ward, who are the developers behindModern Warfare, seem to be keenly aware of many of the requests that fans are asking for when it comes to the ever changing landscape of the game. With update 1.13, the developers are adding a fan favorite weapon back into the game’s online multiplayer: the crossbow. The crossbow is an unlockable weapon for all players, and thankfully unlocking the weapon itself is fairly easy to do.

Changes in Update 1.13

As mentioned before thecrossbow has been added to the gameas a part of the 1.13 update thatModern Warfarereceived earlier today. The update was massive in size, being 13GB on PS4, 18.4GB on Xbox One, and an enormous 48GB on PC. Naturally, the update has a fair bit to add to the game besides thee crossbow, which will be discussed in just a bit.

Update 1.13 presumably added a number of patches and bug fixes to the game, but there are two big takeaways from the update. The first being the highly requested inclusion of additional weapon loadout slots for players to utilize. This feature along is one of the most requested updates to the game that theCall of Dutycommunity has been outspoken about since launch. Finally, as previously mentioned the crossbow makes its long awaited return to the series.

Unlocking the Crossbow

As mentioned before, the crossbow is fairly easy to unlock. Players must complete a challenge in order to the add the weapon to their loadout: use a Marksman Rifle with a Reflex Optic attachment and get five kills in 25 different matches. That challenge shouldn’t be too hard for most players to complete fairly quickly, or at least over a few sessions of play time.

The crossbow seems like it may be one of the last weapons added to the game during Season One. As announced earlier by Infinity Ward, Season One isgoing to be extended to mid-Febuary. While the season was originally going to last until January 28, the development team decided to go until February 11.

It refreshing to see theModern Warfaredevelopment team be so receptive to community requests, such as the platinum camo glitchthat has been plaguing many players. Hopefully Infinity Ward can keep up the pace and keep improving the overall landscape ofModern Warfareto keep the game fresh and relevant for their players.
