Once Humanis setting itself up to be one of the biggest free-to-play survival games, featuring a vast open world where players can build their own territory and scavenge for resources and items to boost their survivability. While most players will focus ongrabbing the essentials like food and water, along with crafting the most basic weapons and equipment, players looking to take on the toughest Monolith bosses will need to get their hands on some of the best weapons in the game.
Weapon and armor Blueprints are the most surefire way for players to increase both their firepower and defense inOnce Human. Though these items can be acquired through simple looting,the best weaponsand gear are often acquired through the Wish Machine. However, to use this unique facility, players will need an ample supply ofStarchrom. Here ishow to get Starchrom inOnce Human.
What Is Starchrom?
Starchrom is a special currencyinOnce Humanthat is tied tothe Wish Machine. The Wish Machine is a Function Facility that players can have within their territory that offers players the opportunity to obtain Blueprintsneeded to craft weaponsand armor. Players looking to use their Starchrom on the Wish Machine can do one of the following:press F to Make a Wishwhen within the Wish Machine’s proximity, orpress G to head to the Blueprint Shop.
Those who press F will be taken into the Wish Machine, where theygamble their Starchrom to earn special prizes. From here, players can select one of the different reward pools at the bottom of the screen. Once players have selected their desired prize pool, they can thenpress ‘Play’ to partake in a whack-a-mole-style minigameto earn Blueprints.Each successful whack will cost Starchrom, and players can play until they have either exhausted their Starchrom, or can simply back out whenever they want.
Each prize pool will reset once it has been emptied (except for The Long-Awaited pool), but it can also be reset manually once players acquire the S-Tier reward of each pool. The number of potential rewards in each prize pool will also differ, meaning the maximum amount of Starchrom a player can spend on each game will vary. For example, those who want to claim all 10 rewards for The Long-Awaited pool can spend up to 1,000 Starchrom.
Alternatively, those whohead to the Blueprint Shopcan simplychoose exactly what they want to spend their Starchrom on. The Blueprint Shop is the better option for players who want to avoid gambling their hard-earned Starchrom, but the cost of obtaining blueprints this way is much higher.
How To Get Starchrom
Seasonal Goals
The first way that players can acquire Starchrom is bycompleting Seasonal Goals. Seasonal Goals are essentiallychallenges that are each split into different phases for each season. These challenges will reward players with Mitsuko’s Mark upon completion, but will also fill the progress bar needed to acquire the Seasonal Goal rewards for each Seasonal Phase. Three total reward tiers can be acquired for each Seasonal Phase, each of whichcontains Starchrom. For players looking to access their Season Goals, they can do the following:
From here, players can simplyview and track the challenges they have available, head on over to the Seasonal Shop, or claim their Seasonal Goal rewards.
Stardust Resonator Filter
While most other methods only offer players a limited supply of Starchrom, players can actuallyfarm this currency through the Stardust Resonator Filter. The Stardust Resonator Filter allows players torefine Eclipse Cortex into Starchrom, but doing so comes at a price. Purifying Eclipse Cortex will require players todefend the Stardust Resonator Filter for the duration that the purification process is active.Both the time that players will have to defend the area, and the intensity of enemies they face, will depend on the amount and level of the Eclipse Cortex placed into the Stardust Resonator Filter. For those looking toacquire Eclipse Cortex, the best methods includecompleting side Tasksandactivating Production Facilities— each of which can be found on the map.
There is a weekly purification limit on the Stardust Resonator Filter, meaning that players can only generate a limited amount of Starchrom each week.
Stellar Planula Shop
Starchrom,like Stardust Source, can also be obtained from Merchants. Starchrom in particular can bepurchased from Severin VII-S2041 for 100 Stellar Planula— acquired through completing Morphic Hunt events or side Tasks. Severin VII-S2041 will first be encountered at Deadsville, but can also befound in most Settlements on the map.
Prime War
Another way that players can earn Starchrom is throughparticipating in a Prime War. A Prime War is a public event that can be found on the map and will require players todefend a Staroid Restrainer from an Original Entity Kin. Activating the Staroid Restrainer andthe Prime War event will require Staroid, which can be acquired through completing Commissions. Upon activation, everyone within the Prime War area will have a short amount of time to fortify the Staroid Restrainer before the Original Entity Kin arrives. Once the boss appears, players must defeat it while simultaneously defending the Staroid Restrainer.
The Original Entity Kin is quite difficult to take down, as it boasts Silver Plague protection that nullifies most incoming damage. The best way to disable this protective barrier is through the use of explosives, Plasma Rounds, and Gatling Cannons. Once the boss’s Silver Plague protection is removed, it will be more susceptible to standard weaponry. Defeating the Original Entity Kin for the first round willyield a hefty Starchrom reward, but players can alsoobtain Stardust’s Adventby participating in the same Prime War once it’s available again after a 10-minute cooldown.
Be sure to play with friendsor members of your Hive to increase the likelihood of taking down the Original Entity Kin.
Battle Pass
Following the trend of earning Starchrom, the highly sought-after currency can also beobtained through the Battle Pass. Though the Battle Pass does offer cosmetic rewards at a premium price, the free pass offers various resources that players can obtain without spending any money. One of these rewards just so happens to be Starchrom. Players can level up theOnce HumanBattle Pass wth EXP earned by completing in-game tasks. Once players reach a certain tier that includes Starchrom, they can claim it through the Battle Pass menu. To access the Battle Pass, players can do the following:
Journey
Another way to acquire a regular supply of Starchrom is byprogressing through theOnce HumanJourney. The Journey is essentially a collection of different tasks that players can complete to obtain a series of rewards. Each task in a Journey yields its own rewards, but only by completing all the tasks within each Journey will players be able to claim Starchrom. Players can view their Journey tasks and claim Journey rewards bypressing the J key to open up the Journey menu.
Events
Much like many other rewards, Starchrom can also beobtained through in-game events. Events inOnce Humanare ever-changing and though some are permanent, others are only available for a limited time. To view the events forOnce Human, players canhead to the Events tab of the Shop Events portion of the main menu. From here, players can simply view the tasks they need to complete to claim event rewards, or simply claim their rewards upon fulfilling a task.
Completing The Once Human Survey
The final method to acquire a nice supply of Starchrom is tocomplete theOnce Humansurvey. While this method only offers a one-time reward of 300 Starchrom, completing it is quick and easy. To gain access to the survey, players can simplyopen up the main menu and select the Survey with Reward 1 tabat the bottom right of the screen. From here, players can simply fill out the survey to claim their Starchrom reward.
There are bound to be additionalOnce Humansurveys to complete in the future, so be sure to keep an eye out to secure even more survey rewards.
